NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is on the low side. You can barely hear Mandi* in the first scene and during the rest I had a pretty good hiss going to hear the performers decently. The video is okay. There’s a little grain, but not a lot, and it’s pretty well lit. The biggest problem is a little digital breakdown now and then throughout the movie, and is there just enough to be noticeable. For an amateur movie, this one looks and sounds pretty darn good.

Music: In addition to a bit of Mister Sandman, there’s a little music from the stereo playing in the background of the scenes.

Watermark Warning: There’s a watermark in the lower right corner of the screen. It says put so that it’s easy to put out of your mind, but I mention it because I know that some people absolutely hate them. The good news is that the good people over at Pixie’s Emporium are great about listening to their customers, and I think they’ve started to remove the watermarks from their movies. If you’re interested in this one and the watermark is a deciding factor, make sure to drop them an e-mail and I’m sure that they’ll let you know the status of it.

Menus: The menu here is very basic. It’s basically just a chapter menu with one choice. This DVD appears to be a very early DVD release from Pixie’s Emporium, and I’d expect the current release to be much better made. If you’re interested, I’d strongly suggest contacting their super hot, super responsive customer service who I’m sure will let you know if it’s been redone or if there are any plans for it in the future.

The Feature

As most anybody who’s ordered from Pixie’s Emporium probably knows, Mandi* is one heck of a hardworking lady. She needs her rest, but she’s around sex so much she can’t help but have naughty dreams. Sometimes, though, naughty dreams are a good thing...

Scene 1 - Mandi*

Mandi*, the super cute brunette who most of us associate with Pixie’s Emporium, starts things off snoozing on a bed filled with stuffed animals. She has naughty dreams as she sleeps, and can’t help but play around her pussy. She rubs her nub around her purple panties, first sliding them aside and then reaching a hand inside as she also plays with her great tits. Of course, you know that the panties have to go, and after a few minutes they do as she sucks on a finger or two and uses the other hand to play with herself. Mandi* brings out a vibrating egg from underneath her toys and rolls around with it for a bit. Finally she finishes things up naturally before rolling over with one of her toys.

This is a disappointing opening scene for one main reason, the camera work. Mandi* is one heck of a cute woman, but you’d never really know it here because the camera is fixed on a tripod at one setting throughout the entire scene. It wants to capture the entire bed, including the curtains around it, and because of that some of Mandi*’s stuffed animals at the bottom of the screen are about the same size as she is in the middle of the screen. She looks to get into her play pretty well, but you can barely make out her face and have to rely on some distant body language. This scene was a major letdown.

Scene 2 - Mystique and her man

As Mandi* goes to sleep, she returns to having nasty dreams. She starts dreaming of Mystique and her husband, who are just starting out their lovemaking with the tattooed hubby giving pierced and tattooed brunette Mystique a massage. After a little play she sucks his cock and then climbs aboard for a cowgirl ride. Mystique turns around for a reverse cowgirl ride along with a doggie ride so her hubby can spank her ass. They get in a bit of missionary work before sixty-nining, where Mystique takes a finger in the ass while being eaten by her man. After plenty of play to finish things up, Mystique takes a nice little facial to bring things to a close.

This scene leaves me torn. On one hand, it’s a pretty hot scene. Mystique and her man have the chemistry one would hope for from a real life couple and keep things moving along very well. On the other hand, it’s hard to watch because the action takes up about a quarter of the screen and hovers about Mandi* on her bed. This makes it very small and any time Mandi* moved I was brought away from the scene. This is a good scene with a poor setup.

Me and My Dreams reminds me a lot of welfare. It’s a nice idea, but the reality of it just doesn’t work as well as the idea. Having Mandi* start with a masturbation sequence and then having her dream of another scene is a great idea. I really like it, and don’t blame the Pixies for doing it. It’s friendly, easy to relate to, and fun. Unfortunately, the reality of it never lets it work anywhere close to as well as the idea does. To start with, there’s Mandi*. Mandi* is one heck of a cute young woman who obviously enjoys her sex. Unfortunately, you never really get to see it because the camera never zooms in at her. Then there’s the scene between Mystique and her hubby that Mandi* dreams about. The scene is pretty hot and having it above her is a neat idea, but it makes the scene very hard to watch. First, it only takes up about a quarter of the screen, and second, whenever Mandi* moves my eye was drawn to her and away from the action above her. I like the idea of Me and My Dreams, but the movie doesn’t come close to it.

The Extra Stuff

None. As I noted earlier, the version I watched looks to be a very early Pixie’s DVD, and I would expect the current release to have some extras.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of the DVDs from Pixie’s Emporium can be found online for about $15. Skip this one. It just doesn’t work nearly as well as most of the other titles I’ve seen from Pixie’s Emporium sexually, although it does have well done technical aspects.
