Synopsis:
Jonathan Morgan and Steve Drake are film producers who receive a bad script about a man who kills his wife so he can be rid of her and be with the girl of his dreams. Jonathan Morgan is very unhappy with his relationship with his wife Rebecca Bardoux. To be rid of her, he starts acting out the script in real life, but Steve Drake starts catching onto what Jonathan Morgan is doing.

Audio/Video:
The available audio track is an English 2.0 Mono track, which is just as good as the monaural tracks available on all of the other Legend releases. In other words, it was cheaply created to begin with and sounds it. The dialog, for better or for worse, can be clearly heard at all times. No other language tracks and no subtitle options are available.

Malibu Blue is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1, which is the original aspect ratio for the film. The film was originally shot on video and the print used to master the disc was in horrible shape. Prolific video glitches dance on the screen throughout the film, which is very distracting to the viewer. Given the age of the film, there is no reason why the print is in this bad a shape. The colors are correctly balanced throughout the disc at least and the image is clear although not very crisp.

Special Features:
As far as extras go, this disc is rather bare containing a screen titled About New Machine that provides the contact info for New Machine Publishing. Also included on the disc are previews for Fingers, Topless Room Service, The Perfect Pair, and Seymour Butts 2: In Pursuit of Pleasure.

Navigation:
Despite the inclusion of 19 chapter stops in the film, there is no chapter menu present anywhere on the disc. Although there is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film, this system provides very poor navigational ability to the viewer.

General Review:
I have never in my porn watching life seen a film by Legend that I have enjoyed, let alone that I could recommend although I keep trying to find one. Unfortunately, Malibu Blue is not going to be the first one. I'm not sure why New Machine even releases their films as I'm sure they can't bring in too much money.

To begin with, the plot here is horrible. It's your stereotypical early 90s plot that doesn't even try to be decent. It exists only to connect the sex scenes together. The acting in the film is horrible too. You'd never know from seeing this film that Jonathan Morgan had any acting potential, a fact we now know to be untrue. And I'm not about to start ranting about Sierra's high pitched squeal of a voice. Let's just say this is the stuff that nightmares are made from.

The film is full of generic porn sets and generic porn camera angles. Nothing about this film stands out as great. The female cast, with the exception of Sierra, isn't amazing to look at. The sex in the film is tame and very formulaic. The biggest problem with the film is the sex scenes rely on extreme genital close up shots and head shots. There are almost no medium or long range shots. The sexual themes in the film are oral and vaginal sex with lesbianism. For viewers that care about such things, there are no condoms used in the film.

The Scenes:
In the first scene, Steve Drake and Christine Applelay get together for a blow job and some vaginal sex. In the second scene, Jonathan Morgan and Rebecca Bardoux pair up for some pussy eating, a blow job and some vaginal sex. In the third scene, Sierra and Christine Applelay give us some lesbian action with a whole lot of pussy eating

In the fourth scene, Jonathan Morgan and Sierra pair up for some pussy eating, a blow job and the required vaginal sex. In the fifth and final scene, Steve Drake and Nicole London give us some pussy eating and the mandatory vaginal sex.

Parting Thoughts:
Unless you are a hardened fan of Sierra, happen to be a fan of the film or have some curiosity of seeing Jonathan Morgan when he was much younger and not yet a master of his craft, I would recommend passing on this film. If the film being poor wasn't bad enough it has a transfer that only VCX would find acceptable. If it wasn't for all the extreme genital close ups, this might make a decent beginning couples film but viewers who like nasty sex or hate a plot will definitely find nothing to arouse them here. Before a purchase, I recommend a rental so you don't get burnt.
