Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects didn't quite make the average mark for me. The audio is decently balanced, and with okay subtitles to get the story across in each scene for those who care. The video is presented in the full frame format and doesn't quite make the average mark. The editing is poor and choppy and there's quite a bit of camera motion. There's also a decent sized blurry spot in the upper left corner of the screen through some parts of the movie that was quite distracting.

Watermark Warning: Although I don't like to see watermarks, I can tolerate them if a company things they need them to protect themselves and do it tastefully. Sadly, the watermarks here are far from tasteful. I don't know what it is about the lower right corner of the screen, but I always seem to be able to filter out a small watermark there. Here, however, there's a large watermark in the lower left corner of the screen that I repeatedly found my eyes jumping to instead of watching the action. It's a distraction and without a doubt hurt my enjoyment of the movie and brought down the overall product.

The Movie: Maid in Japan collects five Asian scenes where the girl starts out in a maid's outfit.

Maid Miku visits a guy in the hospital with a videocamera her boyfriend gave her. He checks her out with the camera and has her give him a little show before moving in to kiss and lick her around and through her panties. The guy lays back for Miku to help him out of his shorts so she can suck his cock before stripping down to her pink plaid bra and panties. The chemistry is often above average, but the amateurish camera work brought things back down to average. The movie also seemed to lose interest right after the maid outfit. There's a couple moments of the couples having fun with it, but more than anything it was a quick gimmick that often fell by the side. Seira's setup was nicely done but I think Meguru's scene might have been my favorite. I can't say it's an easy decision to make, as there wasn't anything that really stood out about this release for me. The only thing that really stood out for me as having two of the five scenes being blowjob scenes, and I can't say that was a plus for me. I'll readily admit that I haven't really watched any Japanese porn, but Maid in Japan just didn't do much for me.

The Extras: Trailers are included for a multitude of titles, and are nicely broken down by genre in the menu. The photo gallery lasts a little over two minutes. There's also cumshot recaps and internet information.

Final Thoughts: If you're into Japanese girls playing dress up, this one might be worth the lower end of your pocketbook, but those new to the genre might want to rent it first due to the slightly different feel from most western porn.

Note to Third World: I'll admit to being new to Japanese porn and maybe the poor camera work and technical aspects should be expected. I hope not.
