Initial Expectations: Freddie Lincoln rarely does much for me behind the camera. I’m not going in with too high of expectations here.

Initial Reaction: It’s a nice bit of fluff that has me looking forward to a lot more from Venus!

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody looking for something really hard or really soft.

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with VCA’s DVDs, the technical aspects are very well done. The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, but a few small sections are a little off. The video is much the same way. It’s extremely clear and well lit, with only a few minor shadows interfering at times. The editing is a bit obvious throughout the movie, as it frequently uses a kind of washout that you often see before and after dream sequences.

Music: The music is pretty typical porn music. It has a slightly different style, but is similar enough that it still fits the porn style very well. It’s a little loud for the most part, but not so much that it interferes a lot with the movie.

Menus: The menus are pretty standard for VCA. There’s no animation to the main menu, which doesn’t give me the best first impression. The chapter menu, however, nicely lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the girl in the scene.

The Feature: Venus and Evan Stone are one of those couples almost everybody has known sometime in their life. They’re either fighting or fucking, and there’s no in between and no half-hearted efforts. Things are a little more complicated than usual here, as Venus owns a gym and has hired Evan to work for her. Suddenly, things start to go beyond personal, and Venus thinks she knows how to handle herself better than the lawyers can.

Evan Stone and Amythiest Stone (no relation) start things out back at her place after getting horned up during their workout. Evan works her twat and ass over with his tongue and fingers before Amythiest reciprocates on his cock with some amazing eyes. Amythiest rides Evan with her pussy reverse cowgirl style before letting him have a bit of her ass as she lays on her side on the staircase and from behind. Finally, Evan pops his load into Amythiest’s mouth. It’s a pretty hot scene with nice energy. Amythiest gets into things pretty well, but Evan just seemed like a cock-provider through most of the scene.

Venus joins Dillion Day in the shower for the next scene. She gets down to let Dillion throat-fuck her right away. Dillion returns the favor with some nice tongue and finger action for Venus’ snatch, and the fucks her in several positions in the shower. Venus takes frequent breaks from fucking to suck Dillion’s dick, and finally sucks him until he comes on her face. It’s a pretty hot scene with nice energy. This is the first I’ve seen from Venus, and I have to admit that I was really impressed with her. She gets into the scene very well, and seems to love fucking.

Erik Everhard gets it on with Dominica Leoni and Felix Viscious in a bathtub next. They exchange oral favors all around before Erik bones Dominica from behind and then lets Felix ride him reverse cowgirl style while Dominica plays with her. Finally, Erik pops right in front of and on the girls faces. It’s a pretty good scene with nice energy and chemistry, but nothing really stood out in any particular way.

Venus returns to tempt Evan Stone with cheesecake, among other things. After satisfying one of his sweet tooths, Evan goes after Venus’ clam, licking and fucking it before letting her return the oral favors with a little head and a rim job. Venus moves up to bounce on Evan’s baloney pony cowgirl style before letting him fuck her ass as she lays back on the bed. She finally sucks on Evan’s balls until he pops on her great natural tits and then sucks out the last few drops. It’s another very impressive scene from Venus, who shows that she can dang near do it all!

Marty Romano tries to help Felix Viscious get her mind off things in the penultimate scene. He tongues her twat as she lays back on a bench before she gives him some nice knob gobbling in return. They finally fuck both reverse cowgirl and missionary until Marty pops on her stomach. It’s a surprisingly tame scene for Marty Romano, and I’ll admit that with all of Felix’s tattoos and piercings that I expected her to want it a bit nastier than what it was.

Finally, Venus shows she can do whoever she wants and gets it on with Jezebelle Bond, now a redhead, but still as good looking as ever. Jezebelle decides to put her pool cue aside and get down to business between Venus’ thighs instead. Venus adds a few fingers to help her out, and then decides to get busy on Jezebelle in return. She tongues Jezebelle and then turns around for Jezebelle to give her a little dildo action which is returned in kind. It’s a nice scene to end things with, but the camera work seemed a little off at times.

Love Is War is a pretty decent porno. It’s not anything that feels new or limit-pushing, but it is a fun little diversion. It’s held back a little by the camera work, which seemed to like extreme close-ups a lot better than I do, and some obvious editing breaks. I’ll readily admit that Freddie Lincoln has rarely really impressed me with his movies, and this one has some of the same problems that have turned me off in the past. On the plus side, Venus is freaking amazing, and somebody I really hope we see a lot more of in the future! She does it all here, from fairly romantic fucking to anal to lesbian action, and seems at ease with all of it. I initially wondered how she got on the box cover, but after watching her here, I’m expecting to see Venus on many more covers in the future! Love Is War is a nice little diversion that should make a lot of people take note of Venus.

Extras: As usual, VCA has included the Wall to Wall option which lets you skip past all the fast forward fodder and having nothing but pure, undiluted whacking material. Bios are included for Venus, Felix Vicious, and Amythiest Stone. Each bio includes a little personal information, a few photos, and a link to the star’s scene. Trailers are included for Barbara Broadcast Too, Sopornos 4, and the excellent The Ozporns. There’s also internet and contact information and a photo gallery that lasts about two and a quarter minutes with about six seconds per very nice looking full screen photo.

Overall: Currently, most VCA DVDs can be found online for between $18 and $25 with most stores offering them for around $20. This is just a little high here, but still worth considering. Venus turns in three hot performances, and there’s a couple other very good performances as well. The transfer is the usual high quality one expects from VCA, but there isn’t much special for extras.

Note to VCA: It’s great to see you putting so much effort towards your transfer and getting away from the standard main menu screen, but a little more polish on your overall DVDs would go a long way!
