The First Word: I picked up this title for two reasons. First, it was a new release from a well-regarded studio, DVSX, and, second, because it had a nice looking boxcover. There was really no meaningful information or reviews for me to turn to (even the studio's information page is completely vague). So, I was expecting something between a Red Light District title and a Pierre Woodman casting video. Maybe I should have keyed in on the fact that the word "Auditions" was in quotes... What's It About?: The video starts with Bella-Maria Wolf, a big-boobed, curly-haired, Spanish-Italian, getting picked up on the way to a shoot. Bella-Maria is supposedly the casting director for Peter Love Productions, but has no problem with showing her tits and pussy during the drive. When they arrive, she "meets" Alexis Malone on the steps of the estate where the video is set. Alexis is a cute, long-haired blonde with great breasts, and in her "audition" interview, she reveals that she's only been in the business for four months. The obligatory removal of clothing occurs, and the staff agrees that she deserves an audition with John West, who's wearing a suit and tie for some reason. After a short creative video interlude, where there's a brief but nice shot of Alexis with wet tits, she gives John head while topless--I liked it a lot, but it was far too short and quickly moved on to the fucking. Even though the sun looks like it's about to set, the video reveals that it's midday and the second interviewee, Jasmine Lynn, arrives while John and Alexis are still, um, coupled on the pool deck. Bella-Maria suggests that she go over and join in, which Jasmine does with a gusto. John is banging Alexis from behind, but soon is having his juice-covered cock powerfully sucked. It's a very strong ending to the scene if you're into PTM action. But that's not Jasmine's "audition" -- this petite girl with short blonde hair and tiny tits is matched with Mr. Pete, who's sporting a red dew rag to go with all of his tattoos. Although I'm not a fan with Mr. Pete and his somewhat bonehead presence, his big dick and Jasmine's small body make for some really nice eye candy, including the doggy, anal spoon, and reverse cowgirl anal. Jasmine isn't the prettiest girl, but she's probably the dirtiest of the bunch. The next scene "drops in" on the lovely Nyomi Marcela (Jade's sister) who is engaged in a bit of fellatio with her "boyfriend" Steve Hatcher. The action stops for a softcore photo shoot that really shows off her body. The fuck session is okay, but clearly the girl is the draw for this scene. Nyomi is becoming a candidate to join her sister on my "favorite actress" list! Scene number 4 is set in a hotel room and features Ander, a San Franciscan with black hair and nice tits that Bella-Maria can't resist squeezing. Alex Rox, a buff, long-haired white guy, is the stud. There are several things going for this scene, including the nice reverse doggy blowjob (creative!) and the very hard and fast cowgirl. What's more, the audio captures the wet, squishy noises of the two engaged in the act -- I love that! The next scene is a group scene, with blonde Ashly Moore and brunette Melanie banging Mr. Marcus, Mr. Pete, and John West. There's a heavy circus element to this scene that I really don't like. Stuff like gagging blowjobs (with the girl soundling like Donald Duck), face slapping, and plugging a girl's nose while she's deep throating you are not my idea of erotic elements. Likewise, the ass-to-mouth is a circus act that I could do without. Redeeming factors include the black and white double penetration and the well-executed dirty talk. The final scene proves that Bella-Maria is more than just a casting director. At midnight, after everyone has left, she retires to the bedroom with John. In an unusual twist, there's some sensual massage, complete with massage oil, before the hardcore. I thought it was pretty funny to hear Bella-Maria deliver her dirty talk bilingually. It's an okay scene, but not really that interesting. Bella-Maria is pretty much the antithesis of the type of porn star that I like to watch. What I liked: New, unknown girls: Of the girls, the only one I can recognize is Nyomi Marcela, Jade Marcela's sister. All of the other ones are new to the business, and most have very petite bodies with natural breasts. In this business, if you're doing movies for a year, you're "old news" so this will probably appeal well to the "fresh face" lovers out there. Some really good sex: While this was mostly a "miss" video, there were "hit" elements in most of the scenes, stuff that will get your libido into overdrive. Examples: Jasmine's "impromptu" pussy-to-mouth, Nyomi's great tits, Jasmine getting it up the ass in several positions, the interracial DP, and the rare reverse doggy BJ. Unfortunately, the down side is that this stuff makes up only a fraction of the total running time. By the time you start to say "hey, this is hot!" the action changes. What I didn't like: Bullshit factor: The "auditions" theme of this video is as phony as calling Steve Hatcher Nyomi's boyfriend. We know that when the camera is pre-positioned during a "first meeting" (i.e. already there before the casting team knocks on the girl's door) that it's scripted. Maybe everyone knows that it's scripted, but it would be nice if the director would at least try to make it look natural. And while I'm not the best judge of solar conditions, I know that when a title card says that it's noon but the sun looks like it's at a 8 a.m. or 5 p.m. angle that my B.S. meter is in the danger zone. Bella-Maria: Since Bella-Maria (Mason's Dirty Trixxx 2, Weapons of Ass Destruction 2) doesn't do anything for me with her looks, permanently-on smile, and oddly-accented English, it was hard to get into a video where she's essentially the hostess. DVD Extras: There's the standard photo gallery and a couple of trailers included, but the major extra is the behind-the-scenes and female masturbation clips. As you might expect, there's some interview footage when the girls are getting ready and then some artsy solo masturbation. Nothing that exciting or interesting, but it's a nice bonus nonetheless. A/V Quality: This one is going to be a love-it or hate-it for most people: the video is extremely bright and favors the red and yellows (see the video captures to the left). Personally, I would rather have a slightly washed-out image than deal with a video that's too dark or poorly lit. Other than that, it's pretty similar in terms of A/V quality to most modern gonzo or all-sex DVDs on the market. The Last Word: On one hand, there's some great visuals and moments of really hot sex, but on the other hand, the whole premise and execution of this video really put a damper on things. I was expecting something resembling real auditions, not a bunch of bullshit about a day of supposed castings. I mean, who's really going to believe that a brand new girl is going to show up at a shoot and just walk up and do a PTM within a minute of walking in the front door? Also, I probably would have like this one better had Bella-Maria not been in practically every scene. I think this is one where my expectations were set too high, especially relying on the boxcover to make my decision. It's a good rental candidate, but I'm pretty indifferent toward purchasing this particular title.
