Lily Thai Exposed Review

General Impression
To be fair, I have to begin with a blanket statement that although I have no problem with compilations discs, this DVD is a prime example of what is often very wrong with this marketing ploy. Simply put, most compilations discs are merely attempts to squeeze a few cents more out of old footage. When done well, these DVDs can be a great way to find some forgotten classic scenes, to check out the odd missed scene or to introduce the reader to a performer previously unfamiliar to them. Vivid Pictures began mass-marketing compilation discs over ten years ago and has actually become rather adept at mixing popular scenes with seldom scene ones from less popular movies. Beginning with their “Ultimate” series featuring contract stars, they pumped out some fairly decent collections that could leave the viewer feeling well-versed on any given starlet in an hours time or so.

However, less ambitious studios have begun to produce compilations featuring a specific performer that are nothing short of re-hashed cuts off all-too familiar scenes. When done with this casual abandon, the medium becomes a crass and cynical ploy to extract those last few “porn dollars” out of your entertainment budget.

Lily Thai Exposed is one of these comps. This reviewer selected this disc out of sheer horniness for Ms. Thai and was left unsatisfied.

Sex Highlights
Lily Thai is both an attractive and energetic performer. She can dirty-talk with the best of them and squirts like there’s no tomorrow. Although the original full-scene with Randy West 9Up ‘N Cumers #123) offered what I found to be hotter portions, her two clips from that movie included here are both decent enough for anyone that’s a fan of hers. Giselle Yum’s clip from I Love Lesbians #10 is also a great sapphic selection with her enjoying the charms of an uncredited amateur. Giselle is beautiful to watch and her knowledge of the female body and how to arouse it always burns through her performances.

Negatives
Lily’s body of work has been spread far too thin over many studios for New Machine to have much of a collection. The result is a short disc with seven scenes and only three actually involving Ms. Thai. Throwing in additional footage to “fill” a disc is understandable to a point, but when you are dealing with a performer who came onto the scene with as much splash as Lily Thai, 50% of the DVD being devoted to other performers just doesn’t cut-it. In this case, those performers are: Giselle Yum, pre-implants (and thus ancient)Asia Carrera, Kianna Thai in an uninspiring BJ scene with Ed Powers from Dirty Debutantes #192 and Lacey DuValle in a too-brief non-sex shower scene that doesn’t even allow the vid to be categorized as “All-Asian.”

Out of the three scenes involving Lily, two are taken from her romp with Randy West in an earlier edition ofUp ‘N Cumers. While this was a decent scene in its entirety, the clips used are likewarm at best.

The DVD
The DVD itself also shows little signs of real effort. Although sound and video quality are okay for a compilation disc, no bonus material to speak of is featured other than a photo gallery. The cover art itself is also just regurgitated from her previous work with Randy and to be truthful a few of the photos neither look much like Lily nor do her beauty any justice.

Summary
My initial thought was to say that this DVD may appeal to any true Lily Thai- maniacs out there. But then I realized that the only reason I chose this disc was because I am a raging Thai-a-phile…yet I was unmoved by this DVD. If you enjoy Lily’s work, you’ve seen both these scenes presented better. If you’re looking to familiarize yourself with this scorcher, look elsewhere or you may never truly appreciate what she has to offer.
