Like Mother, Like Daughter (VCX) Review

Review:
It spells serious trouble for a swinger mother (Leila Harris) and step-father (David Fine) when Leila's ex (Guy Thomas) reenters the picture and threatens to take custody of their barely-legal daughter (Kecia Kane). Complicating matters is the fact that their lifestyle has bled over into their family life and has even led to Kecia's involvement in some of the fun. Whether Kecia will ultimately get to stay in her happy (...albeit horny...) home, or whether she'll be ripped away from all that she knows and loves (...perhaps too much...) remains the question of the day. Such is the case in "Like Mother, Like Daughter", a decent, 1973 release from VCX and director Ernest Danna. With a storyline that's strong enough to hold the interest of the viewer throughout the film and acting that's acceptable, it's safe to say that this one holds the line in the plot department fairly well. That's a good thing. In the area of the sex, however, it does fall a bit short. Occasional wood issues pop up (...or don't, so to speak....), the action could certainly be more hardcore, and the proceedings never really pack much of a punch...erotically, comically, or physically. There's certainly a different expectation for the sexual content in an older film such as this, and this one falls about in the middle of the road in that regard...neither great nor awful...just meh. So, in all, fans of Golden Age erotic fare may find something in this flick, but most everyone else will likely be better off taking a pass.

In terms of the sex, the fun kicks off mid-threesome, with David Fine (step-daddy) servicing both Leila Harris (mommy) and Kecia Kane (daughter) upon the family bed. The action here is fairly soft, and the penetration is largely obscured by shadows (Scene One). In Scene Two, Kecia and her school friend, Nancy Franklin, get together for some very brief make-out and tit-play action in a secluded park, while Scene Three brings them together more fully as they repose on lawn chairs outside of Kecia's parents' sex party, watching in (fingers and tongues). Scene Four features the aforementioned party, with Leila Harris, Nancy Keller, Marsha Kossel, David Fine, Jamie Gillis, and Michael Muir all getting it on in the living room (oral, vaginal, girl-girl ; pops on two bushes and a facial). In Scene Five, David Fine consoles a concerned Leila Harris in their bed...and with his dick (oral to a supposed cum-shot on his pelvis ; wood issues throughout). Scene Six finds Kecia Kane blowing her "real" father, Guy Thomas, in his rental car on the side of the road, as her friend, Nancy Franklin, masturbates in the backseat. In Scene Seven, it's an all-in-the-family (-and-friends), celebratory orgy, involving Kecia Kane, Leila Harris, Nancy Keller, Nancy Franklin, Jamie Gillis, and David Fine (oral, vaginal--including some bloody action??? ; some wood issues ; facial for Kecia).
