It's strange to see a series title called Lesbian Sex because that's nearly all of Girlfriends Films's catalog. The difference is how it's presented. Whereas most GFF titles are either story-driven features (like the Road Queen series) or smaller scenes to create an interesting situation (Women Seeking Women, its all fiction. In Lesbian Sex, you get four unrelated FF scenes, but there is no storyline.

Instead they precede each scene with an interview between the two stars, and it's presented as real life.

• Elexis Monroe and Diamond Jackson have shot a couple of lesbian scenes before, so they know each other already. This is largely Elexis interviewing Diamond.
• Kendra James and Anastasia Pierce claim to be real life friends who may have something going on between them in real life.
• Heather Starlet and Madison Ivy say they're in a real-life lesbian relationship and have been living together for a year.
• Brandi Love and Simone Sonay is another pair of performers who are going to work together. Mainly this is Brandi interviewing Simone.

The scenes and the interviews have a enough variation to keep things interesting. Heather and Madison talk more about their personal relationship; while Brandi (interviewing Simone) and Elexis (interviewing Diamond) discuss personal sex history and preferences a bit more.

Scene content is par for what GFF typically makes: the women are both naked on a bed, usually in a very good looking set; except for one scene there are no toys, no strap-ons or Sybians. Orgasms appear to be as genuine as you can ask in a porn film. The one scene that breaks tradition is Anastasia and Kendras, which involves some light bondage, and a couple of big vibrators. I haven't seen all of GFF's output, but I've seen enough of their other titles to know this is unusual for them. But even though I really don't care for leather, restraints and such, it's well done and probably my favorite scene of the bunch.

This is a two-disc set, and each is over two-hours long so there are no bogus bonus scenes, BTS, lame photo galleries and endless trailers for crap you'll never buy. Even though some of the time is spent on the intro (and occasional afterglow) interviews, the meat of it is still the sex scenes.

Production standards are up to the usual high GFF standard. The sets are attractive. The video is bright, crisp and clean. Camerawork is unobtrusive. There's a little music here and there but mostly it's clean natural sound. I would have liked more chapter breaks but there are enough to get around.

I enjoy this series. Even if they feature performers who normally don't do it for me, I find something fun and interesting in the interviews, and the sex scenes seem genuine instead of scripted. For fans of lesbian sex, both the series and the genre, it's a winner.
