Initial Expectations: This has been a very good series that has been improving very well the last few episodes. I’m really looking forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and although there appear to be a few hard surface rooms it’s rare to hear much of an echo. The video is also nicely done. It has a soft look to it that works very well in giving the movie a slightly more artistic look. It’s nicely lit and there’s very little camera motion in the movie with the biggest problem being one soft focus blur near the end of the movie. This is a very nice looking and sounding movie.

Music: There’s a little music as each scene starts, but that’s about it for music. It’s nicely balanced with the rest of the audio, and has a nice dance beat that helps the scenes out.

Menus: As usual, Smash has put some nice effort into their menus. The main menu blends a bit of the movie with the boxcover for a very good first impression. The chatper menu is just as good, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the lovely lady in each scene. After you choose the scene, you’re given a second menu that lets you know who’s in the scene with the girl and lets you choose where you want to go in the scene sexually.

The Feature

Recently, the Legal Skin series went from having a loose plot for the movie to having a vignette feel. The girls are some of the finest Europe has to offer, and the series appears to be trying to focus on one subject for each volume now. This time, the focus is cream pies with four of the six scenes having cream pie finishes.

Scene 1 - Zafira and Thomas

Zafira, a cute brunette, starts things out giving Thomas a few eyes as they do a few math problems. When she sneaks off to go to the bathroom, Thomas moves around to peek in on her pissing. Zafira and Thomas do a nice job through the scene, and appear to have some pretty good chemistry. There was a little something that felt like it was missing to me, which I think was probably due to it being Zafira’s first onscreen boy - girl scene. It’s not a fantastically great scene, but it is pretty good and nicely captured.

Scene 2 - Melanie Sylver and Clarck

Up until the questionable cream pie, this is a smoking hot scene, but still one of my favorites in the movie.

Scene 5 - Black Diamond and Frank Gun

When Black Diamond, an attractive dark woman with a nice body and a pierced nostril, wants a job dancing at Frank’s club, he has her give him a little show. Black Diamond doesn’t get too far into her act before Frank feels the need to take a closer look, and after a little kissing he works his tongue around Black Diamond’s pussy. I think the thing that held the scene back for me was that the only thing that seemed different about this scene was that it had a black girl in it instead of a white one. Going from him eating her to her sucking him to doggie, missionary, and cowgirl made the scene seem like one I’d already seen in the movie once or twice already. If I were watching Legal Skin 18 one scene at a time, it would probably be a great scene. Watching it with others in the movie, however, didn’t leave it seeming quite so impressive.

Scene 6 - Adriana Russo and Norby

Legal Skin 18 is a movie that was very hard for me to judge. There are two ways of looking at a porno, and I think it does very well at one while not doing that well at the other. For the very well, the scenes are all nicely done taken one at a time. The girls are cute, the guys are good looking, and there’s normally a decent feeling of chemistry and people having fun. There’s also some decent cream pies and plenty of hot anal action. If you’re watching Legal Skin 18 one scene at a time, I’d be surprised if you weren’t very satisfied. The other way is taken as a whole. Here I was disappointed. Yes, the scenes are all nicely done, but there’s a same-ness to them that made the movie start to drag after a few scenes. I think part of it is due to Jordan having a slightly artistic and often beautiful look to the scenes, but I think more of it is due to the action being a little formulaic. It seems like the scenes almost always went from pussy eating to blowjob to doggie, and there were many times it seemed like deja vu all over again. Legal Skin 18 is far from a bad movie, but it doesn’t have the variety or ability to grab you hard that makes a great movie either.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts two minutes with about five seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. Trailers are included for Cum Catchers, Easy Prey, My Playtoy 3, Pop My Ass, Teen Idol, and Under Pimp Arrest. There’s also website information and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts nearly twenty three minutes. Adriana starts things out riding her bike back and forth before Jordan introduces her at the end of her scene. Yvette is next, and poses for several stills with Jordan before he captures some of her scene being shot. Katy poses after being made up next, followed by Melanie, before capturing some of Katy and Choky’s scene being shot. Melanie’s stills and some of her scene being shot finish things up, with Zafira only appearing for a moment and Black Diamond never appearing at all. This is an okay behind the scenes featurette. There’s a bit of talking, but since it all appears to be in Hungarian it’s doesn’t mean much unless you speak the language. Through it all Jordan appears to keep a nice set and a good relationship with his performers, but since I always look forward to featurettes like this to see the performers between shots and acting like real people, this one didn’t do a lot for me despite showing some nice effort.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Smash DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $24 with most stores offering them in the $20 range. This one’s okay near the low end. There’s some good sex, but much of it seems a bit formulaic. The technical aspects are nicely done and there’s some okay effort put into the extras. This is a pretty good movie on a DVD that shows some good care.

Note to Smash Pictures: I know this one didn’t work as well as some of your other releases here, but it’s nice to see you going with a cream pie release again. It’s also great to see you attracting some of the top European talent, such as Adriana Russo, as well as nabbing things like Zafira’s first boy - girl scene. Little things like that show that you’re definitely a company worth paying attention to!
