Initial Expectations: I’ve heard great things about Viv Thomas’s work, but this is the first I’ve seen of it. I’m going into this one with very high expectations.

Initial Reaction: The girls are beautiful and there’s a nice foot fetish focus, but the movie itself felt a bit cheap and amateurish.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit dated. The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, but there are a couple places where the balance seems to falter. The video is where the technical aspects lack. The lighting is fairly uneven and there’s also a fair amount of pixelation to the picture. Although the production date on this movie was 2001, it reminded me more of a movie that would have been made almost a decade earlier.

Music: The music is a bit loud, as well as extremely cheesy. It lives up to the generic porn music style only too well, which is really too bad.

Disc Complaints: There’s no time stamp to the DVD. This always annoys me because it means you can’t jump to any point in the DVD as some of us like to. Sometimes this is helped out by the movie having a lot more chapters, but sadly this isn’t the case here. The lack of chapters really stands out here as the featurette on the company in the extras brags about them putting the extra care into their DVDs and them being the first company to allow people to jump directly to the pop shots. Not only is there no such feature here, but I think Adam & Eve beat them long to the punch with their “Hot Shot” feature. There’s a part of me that’s tempted to penalize the overall DVD for this, but for now I’m letting it go.

Menus: The main menu is pretty simple, and works together a few clips from the movie with the choices. The chapter menu is very basic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Belinda seems to be gaining a reputation for at her store. Her “Miss Behavior” shop seems to get quite a following for their footwear, and she’s more than happy to help her customers find just what they’re looking for while giving them that personal touch.

Scene 3 - Natasha and Belinda

Leg Sex Shoe Shop is a decent little fetish movie. Belinda is a hottie who nicely gets into the foot and shoe action, and that helps her to anchor the movie quite well. Most of the rest of the cast gets into it well also, with Vicki and the second Mark turning out my favorite scenes in the movie. Natasha is also a hottie, but she turns out the weakest scene in the movie by not quite looking like she’s into feet and shoes as much as the others. Although there’s some nice foot and shoe action, I had a hard time getting too much into the movie for a couple reasons. First, it seemed cheap and limited. The set looks amateur as heck, and for a shoe shop I don’t think there’s ten pair of shoes in the entire movie. Granted, I’m a male shoe whore, but I think I have more shoes than did this entire movie. The second problem I had was the camera work. It’s often very limited and there were many times when I felt a step to one side would vastly improve the action by actually letting you see the action. That said, there is also some very nice camera work aimed at the shoes and feet, which was a very nice thing to see as so many foot fetish movies tend to ignore it. At the same time for a Leg Sex shoe shop, there’s very little attention given to the legs. Leg Sex Shoe Shop has some beautiful women and nice attention given to the shoes, but it rarely made it too far past the average level.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about three and a quarter minutes with about five seconds per okay screen capture. A Busty Bio lasts nearly twelve minutes, and gives a bio of Big Top and its founder, Sam Xavier. It’s an interesting featurette, especially if you’re a fan of Big Top and interested in a bit of recent history about the adult industry. Trailers are included for Mad Jaxxx Beyond Thunderboobs and Boobsville P.D.. There’s also website information and Big Tit Bonanza, a six minute clip filled with titties.

Currently, many of Big Top’s DVDs can be found online for between about $13 and $27 with several stores offering them for under $15. I’d strongly suggest renting this one first. There’s some nice shoe and foot action, but the movie has a cheap feel that held back the replayability factor for me. The technical aspects were also a bit weak and although there is a bit of effort put into the extras, it’s all very generic. This is an okay DVD.

Note to Big Top: A little more attention to your technical aspects would go a long way.
