The Movie

Lay Her Down is a fun horror adult movie directed by someone hiding behind the pseudonym Boomskadoom. In fact, many of the behind the scenes crew members seem to hide behind pseudonyms made up just for this movie. This reviewer is unsure why because Lay Her Down is a pointless but fun movie that requires no need to hide or be embarrassed about.

In Lay Her Down, Vanessa Stark (Aubrey Rose) has a problem keeping secret the sexual trysts of the clique she belongs to. The other clique members Emma (Bailey Brooke), Stephanie (Mila Marx), Morgan (Gia Paige), and Aria (Mariah) figure out a way to solve Vanessa's big mouth — but does any problem ever really die?

This reviewer wishes there had been more to the plot because, honestly, the story is enjoyable. There is nothing overly serious being presented at any time. And despite the movie being an adult horror, there isn't really any really scary situations. The movie also does a good job of pulling off the horror scenes without having to show everything. However, none of this harms the fun of watching the movie. In fact, if the film had taken itself more seriously it likely would have harmed the final product.

The sex scenes could have been edited a little tighter, there were some points that it felt that there was extra action left in to pad out the run time of the film a little more. Since all of the sex scenes in the film are long, tighter editing definitely wouldn't have hurt any of them. The cast members all do a good job with the sexual portions of the movie with enthusiastic enjoyable performances.

The cast members mostly do a great job with the non-sexual footage as well. Especially Aubrey Rose, Bailey Brooke, and Gia Paige who carry the movie. In fact, the only really disappointing non-sexual performance was Marco Ducati, who came across very stilted in the non-sexual portions.

There were a few odd decisions made within Lay Her Down, the first of which is the blood has glitter in it. Another is that Aria puts on her underwear after having sex with Coach Derek (Brannon Rhodes) before going into the shower. But the few oddities certainly don't ruin the movie. The movie features great lighting, which yes is important in this movie, and locations and sets. There are some very well done make-up effects in the movie as well. Lay Her Down is nicely shot with a good eye as to the visible frame.

Lay Her Down is well worth giving a watch, the enjoyable plot, mostly good acting, and nicely done sex scenes blend for a very enjoyable experience. Fans of the genre shouldn't be disappointed by this movie.

The Edition

Digital Playground has done a good job with their DVD release of Lay Her Down. Lay Her Down was shot in high definition digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78 in 480i. The image for Lay Her Down is absolutely beautiful with vibrant color and a flawless picture.

Lay Her Down is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track. There is some hiss present in the audio at times. Other than the hiss, there don't appear to be any issues with the audio for the movie. The dialog is clear and can be understood at all times.

The only extra that Digital Playground has included on this release is a photo gallery.

Final Thoughts

Lay Her Down is a revenge-oriented light-hearted horror adult movie. The story is fun and seems to be original as well and the director, Boomskadoom, has done a nice job with the technical details for an overall nice looking product. There are some issues but none of them should ruin the enjoyment of the movie. Digital Playground has done a nice job with their release with a beautiful image and decent audio quality.
