NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are fairly average for an amateur release. The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, but there are a few background noises and a little camera work. The biggest problem with the video is that it has a fair amount of grain, but there’s also a bit of camera motion. The lighting is fairly well done, but there’s a number of shadows which interfere with the action once in a while.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower left corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on several stills.

The Feature

Scene 1 - Lauren and Chris

This is an okay scene. I love the start, as Lauren coming out of the tub to suck cock gives it a great feel. Lauren’s head is chopped off almost the entire scene, and you never get to see Chris’s face. You can hear them both enjoying themselves quite a bit, but not seeing it just seemed wrong. With a little better camera work this would have been a great scene.

Scene 2 - Lauren and Chris

Chris starts out the second scene playing with Lauren’s ass a little with his finger before sticking the enema tube in. After letting the water flow a few minutes, things move to the bed where Lauren is now partially dressed in a pair of panties and a tank. This is another pretty average scene. Lauren gets into the anal nicely, and I was thrilled to see an amateur anal cream pie. That said, the scene seemed to go on darn near forever. I think the enema lasted about ten minutes, and it seemed like two or three times that because it was pretty much just Lauren lying back with a hose in her ass. Once again, the camera work was also positioned so that you could see the penetration perfectly but very rarely Lauren’s face. Thankfully Lauren’s vocal or the scene would have been a major loss. This is a pretty average scene that seems like it would have been better with a couple other camera angles.

Lauren & Chris 4 is a pretty average homemade porno. There’s some very good chemistry between them, with Lauren easily leading the way. She’s nicely vocal and does a great job letting Chris take each of her holes. Chris is much more quiet and subdued, but puts out some nice energy as he bones her throughout the movie. That said, I ended up having two problems with the movie. The first was the pace. The scenes both seemed like they were very drawn out. I’ll admit that I had mixed feelings on this. There are many times when I hate seeing how hurried and canned anal sex appears in adult films, and part of me really did like to see it portrayed realistically with the slow pace that’s definitely needed (or at least highly recommended) when one is first trying it. My second was the camera work. I can handle tripod camera work in homemade porn, but I really didn’t like the angle here because all it really let you see was the penetration and man ass. With their fourth installment, Lauren and Chris show the good and bad of amateur porn only too well, and leave me much more lukewarm to this release than I have most other Shot at Home releases.

Currently, most DVDs can be found for about $20 at Shot at Home’s website. Shot at Home is getting into the rental market, and that would seem like a good way to check this one out. It’s not a bad release, but it just wasn’t too much to my tastes even with some of the touches I really like. The technical aspects are pretty average for an amateur release, and as usual, Shot at Home has put some decent effort into the extras. This is an above average amateur release.

Note to Shot at Home: Although it has some problems, it’s great to see you continuing to release real first time anal scenes. I hope you also release more cream pie movies!
