Initial Reaction: It's not bad, but is is probably my least favorite Hyde movie.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are artistic, but nicely done. The audio is pretty clear and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is very nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. It has a touch of softness and lighting variations, but with the care Tanya Hyde puts into the movies artistically I can't help but think that it's intentional. There's also a little camera motion, but it's very minor.

Music: The music varies from scene to scene and incorporates classical, electronic, and rock music that's nicely balanced with the rest of the audio. It helps with the unique feeling of the movie and works very well with the scenes.

Menus: The main menu has some simple animation that works extremely well for the movie. The chapter menu keeps the theme, and lets you choose a scene based on a title for the scene as a few clips of the action move by in the background.

The Feature

Tanya Hyde is back with four fetishy vignettes. The scenes are all unrelated except for their style, and all contain some heavy fetish aspects.

Scene 1 – Elizabeth Lawrence, Taylor J. Morgan and a guy

Scene 2 – Elizabeth Lawrence and a guy

The Prisoner continues with Elizabeth returning to punish the prisoner who tried escaping earlier. There's a lot of split screen action here and it rarely drew me in as it seems to take footage from all over the position and put it together kind of like showing all of the old Vivid “multiple angles” at once rather than just showing different angles of what's happening at one time. The thought of it did interest me, but the execution didn't work. The scene also seemed far more drawn out than I would have liked. I just couldn't get into this scene.

Scene 4 – Lolly Badcock, Sahara Knite, Strapon Jane, Suzie Best, and a guy

This is a good scene that worked pretty well for me.

Scene 5 – Elizabeth Lawrence, Natalie Heck, and a few guys

Kinky Bitch is pretty much just what one has come to expect from Tanya Hyde. The scenes are artistic with strong fetish aspects and a fair domination aspect. The scenes are a bit choppier than I expected here with the action frequently breaking into two groups very sharply and jumping hard from one to the other. I think the opening scene was my favorite, as it had a better flow with the same great fetish aspects and hard sex, while Michelle B.'s scene barely did anything for me in any way. I was also a little surprised with the length of the release, as most of Tanya Hyde's movies for Harmony have been around the three hour mark while this one doesn't quite make two. The shorter length really stood out to me with some of the hard jumps between groups in the scenes, and there were more than a few times when I wondered if the movie would have worked much better if it had been another fifteen or twenty minutes longer. At the very least another scene would have helped out the movie a little more by getting it to a running time more like what people expect from this company and director. Kinky Bitch gives you most everything you've come to expect from Tanya Hyde, but it just didn't click quite as well for me here as it has in the past.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Evil Angel’s DVDs can be found online for between about $18 and $30, with a few stores offering them in the $20 range. Aim for the low end here. The movie isn't nearly as good as some of Hyde's other works, but still has the hard fetish and creativity that nobody else does anywhere close to as good as Hyde does. The technical aspects are well done, but sadly there's no effort put into the extras. This is a decent DVD.

Note to Evil Angel / Harmony Films: A cast listing by scene like in most standard Evil Angel extras would be very nice. As somebody's credited with shooting behind the scenes footage, a behind the scenes featurette would have also been very nice.
