Wicked presents Michael Raven's "Killer Sex & Suicide Blondes". I confess -- I have never seen a Wicked production before, and since I appreciate a feature film once in awhile, I thought why not. Why this particular title? Are you kidding, look at the title.

Story Synopsis

Gemini Black's husband, who worked as a hitman for the mafia, was killed in front of her eyes by his own employers. Gem is presumed dead as well, but she is not; she manages to survive, goes into hiding, and returns after several years as a ruthless, cold blooded, killer babe whose only goal is to avenge her husband.

Scene 1 - Julia Ann and Randy Spears

Julia (Gem) and Randy (Gem's husband) are making out on their bed. She gives him a BJ and then they have sex in cowgirl and spooning positions. Semen lands on Julia's pubes and stomach. This is supposedly a flashback of their wedding night, and for such monumental occasion, I must say, there is little to no chemistry visible between the lovers. The setting, mood and camerawork are nice though, but as far as the passionate sex goes, it's all pretty basic and business as usual. Randy Spears has this deep, low pitched voice which makes his moans sound more like grunts, and that's not a good thing. Score:

Scene 2 - Jessica Drake and Ice La Fox

Some foreplay here featuring Jessica spilling a drink on Ice (on purpose), and licking her breasts afterwards. Ice is standing while Jessica goes down on Ice to work on her pussy. A few moments later, Ice is playing with Jessica's love hole, and the scene just...ends, in the middle of the action. Both girls are hot (and have the cutest pussies), but the abrupt ending left me somewhat puzzled and disappointed. Score:

Scene 3 - Kaylani Lei and Brad Armstrong

Mobster Armstrong meets his mistress. There is some very brief foreplay, and Brad goes exploring Kaylani's pussy, using two fingers and tongue. She gives him a short BJ. They proceed to fuck in missionary position, followed by a cowgirl. Brad shoots his load on her tongue and chin. This is definitely more energetic scene that the previous ones. Unfortunately, it's too short and feels kind of rushed. Score:

Scene 3.5 - Julia Ann and Randy Spears

This is a very short half-real, half-fantasy sequence of Julia Ann, taking a shower after her kung-fu workout, and flashing back on tragic events in the past. She rubs her pussy a little, and then imaginary Randy appears to give her oral pleasures. I won't give this a score because, in my opinion, this clip is way too short to constitute a "scene", but it's quite nice and keeps the momentum going, although, the presence of gory images didn't exactly add to the eroticism.

Scene 4 - Julia Ann and Evan Stone

Julia is fucking her "victim" at her place. She gives Evan a BJ and they fuck in cowgirl and doggie positions. She then jerks off his cock and he unloads on her thigh. WOW! This sequence is very beautifully shot and breathes atmosphere. A lot of volumetric lighting, shadows and other tricks were used to make this scene visually very appealing. There is also a nice soundtrack playing during the action, and I think if Michael Raven had eliminated the ambient sounds (moaning) completely, the scene could have had greater symbolical meaning. Anyway, from erotic-artistic perspective, this is a spectacle, however, from pornographic point of view, I am not so sure. There are just too many distractions to focus on actual sex. I liked the scene nonetheless. Score:

Scene 5 - Jessica Drake and Steven St Croix

After having a fight with each other, Steven and (drunk) Jessica have passionate sex on the staircase. Action starts with some intense foreplay that includes Steven spanking Jessica's ass. Some usual pussy eating and cock sucking follow, also in 69. The intercourse is in cowgirl and doggie positions. Finally, Jessica jerks off Steven's cock and he shoots almost invisible load on her face and mouth. The sex here has a great, dynamic start: two people after a fight are overwhelmed by emotions and spontaneously engage in hot sex. Unfortunately, the action loses its momentum almost immediately. I would have expected ripped off clothes and some "fireworks", and probably no oral sex at all, just straight to fucking. Interesting to know that Michael Raven also refers to this clip as "clothes ripping" kind of scene, but the question is: where is IT? For a movie such as this, it should be possible to deviate from the cliche sex scenarios. It's still a very nice scene. Actually, it's probably the best scene in the movie, from raincoater's point of view. Score:

Scene 6 - Julia Ann and Steven St Croix

Julia and Steven are outside, doing it on the hood of his car. We see some initial fondling, kissing and tittie sucking. Julia gives Steven some head. They have sex in standing doggie and missionary. Finally, Steven cums on her chest. There is nothing here to make this scene in any way memorable or special. It's usual routine. Score:

Final Thoughts

KS&SB is an interesting, experimental movie with high production values. As became apparent from the interview with the director, he attempted to merge thriller and porn. Personally, I think he only partially succeeded in it. The cinematography and story are, indeed, very well taken care of, but what about the sexual heat? It leaves a lot to be desired. I would think that a porn thriller should have at least as much porn as thriller. Probably more porn than thriller because Wicked is about adult entertainment, is it not? Sadly, in this case, the sex and the story seem to lead separate lives, where quality and variety of sexual acts fall in the background. The dark, melancholic story and violence may not be everyone's cup of tea, although they don't bother me. The cast is very good looking, as can be expected from Wicked, and for the most part, all performers deliver convincing acting performances. The locations and settings are impressive as well.

What I liked:

• Jessica Drake
• Placement of the sex scenes within the movie. In other words, you don't have to watch 20 mins. of non-sex footage before some action.
• Overall quality of the DVD, as a whole, especially Extras. Wicked knows how to assemble top quality product.

What I didn't like:

• Julia Ann. I am very very sorry, but, in my opinion, she just isn't 100% believable in her role. Maybe it's her acting, maybe it's her looks, maybe the role and script were slightly too hard, but she doesn't look like a merciless killer. However, kudos to her for all the work she had done to prepare for the shoot.
• Condoms. Okay, if you have a condom policy -- fine. But, I am so tired of seeing condoms magically appearing on dicks and then disappearing before the money shot. At least show how guys (or gals) put them on. This can even be developed in sexually arousing action with some imagination, especially if a girl applies it.
• Some editing cuts. You practically never see characters actually changing sexual positions in real time. In my opinion, it takes away some realism from the sex because you get the impression that you watch a chain of videoclips instead of one natural sex sequence. I realize that in some, more symbolic scenes this may not be desired, but some others (e.g. scene with Brad and Kaylani) could have been greatly improved, in my opinion.
• Too generic and short sex scenes
• No anal. I know this sounds like nitpicking, but not a single finger, let alone cock, goes in someone's anus. Not once! Come on, this almost violates the laws of pornography. I sure hope Wicked girls aren't required to wax their assholes as a part of the contract. Haha!
• Voice off screen. Okay, I am not totally sure about this, but I think I heard someone (crew) saying something during sex on several occasions. For example, apprx. at time index 0:14:25 (during 1st Randy and Julia scene), a "voice" seems to say a word or maybe call out a name -- I didn't quite catch it. Well, anyway, this is something I don't want to see happening in a production at this level. There was, I think, another similar instance during lesbian scene with Jessica and Ice.

Conclusion

A movie from a director with great potential. Michael Raven delivers a solid, plot-driven feature film. The only problem is that he, evidently, concentrates more on film-technical details, instead of hardcore action. My philosophy is that if a feature film doesn't offer hot sex, it must offer something else instead, otherwise it's a failure. This film does offer a lot instead -- it's a great erotic thriller with the exceptional, artistic style. It's definitely worth checking out by the fans of the genre.
