Kelly the Coed 18 brings back Allysin Chaynes, her second time playing Kelly since her return to the titular role. As with previous entries, there is no real plot here at all. Kelly and some of the Delta fraternity boys are going on a road trip, so she has to go to the Delta fraternity house prior to going on the road trip. There is an actual road trip within the movie, which is more than Jim Powers usually does with these movies. Don't get excited through, there is nothing to the road trip. And it gives Powers a reason to not have to figure out more reasons why the Pi Pi girls are having sex on campus, since they have to have sex at all stages of the road trip.

Powers continues to show his ineptitude with this entry in the series with technical issues throughout the movie. Some are technical issues that he has had in the past and hasn't bothered to figure out how to fix or avoid yet. Which is unfortunate. Sadly, there are issues with all three locations.

The first issues pop up at the fraternity house before Kelly goes on the road trip. The shot includes actors and members of the fraternity where Powers was shooting. The constant screaming of the frat brothers during filming gets annoying extremely fast. Not only is this annoying but it garbled the audio equipment which obviously couldn't handle all the noise. Then there is issues with cameras. The frat brothers were obviously allowed to use cameras during the shooting, as one pulls one out when Kelly enters the room and takes pictures with the flash going. During the first scene there are flashes going off throughout. And there are points where there are cameras that are shoved into the visible frame.

Then we go to the RV, which takes Kelly and the actors portraying fraternity brothers on their road trip. The quarters within the RV were obviously cramped and the camera operator doesn't seem to be able to figure out how to shoot well while aboard. Another issue is that said camera operator didn't take the mirror inside into account and puts himself into the frame shooting courtesy of the mirror.

Finally we get to the lake, where the road trip has been going. Sadly the technical issues don't end here, they just change. To begin with, the cast is clearly cold and not having a good time. Powers doesn't know how to operate a camera with microphone under windy conditions as there are issues with the wind interfering with the audio. And lastly, Powers didn't take the sun into account as there is a shadow of the camera and microphone visible in some shots.

The sex scenes aren't horrible, but with all the technical inadequacies there is no reason to view this title.

Kelly the Coed 18 is presented in the full screen aspect ratio. The transfer looks good without any noticeable blemishes in the video presentation. Skin tones look accurate.

Kelly the Coed 18 is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track, which appears to accurately represent what was present on the master for the audio, for good or for bad. No new blemishes have been introduced to the audio, but it keeps the issues that exist during the fraternity house scenes and the lake scenes instead of trying to fix them.

Heatwave has included a couple of extras on the release, and promises one that isn't present. There is a fifteen minute behind the scenes featurette. Heatwave has also included a photo gallery on the disc. There is also a claim of Fallen Angels as enhanced DVD-ROM content but all they have included is the trailer if you put the disc in your computer.

Kelly the Coed 18 is another bad entry in the Kelly the Coed series that should have been axed a long time ago. Powers shows no real ambition with this series and like previous entries it is riddled with technical issues. Sadly, this is just poor adult entertainment. Heatwave has done a decent job with this release.
