It's been a while since David Luger put his money where his mouth is, swapping writing and reviewing for movie making, but this is the first time I have had the chance to check out some of his work. For the sheer nerve of putting his neck on the line, he deserves credit, but does he deserve it for the quality of his porn? Another no-frills teenage series (all girls are 18 or 19)…how good can it be?

Jenna Hayes
Introducing Miss Jenna Hayes (Haze)…well, actually it's been ages since I first read about this teenage wannabe on Rog's site. But again I have been remiss in spying her in action till now, and in the interim she's been a busy little bee, hasn't she? And from the off it's easy to see why directors have been hiring her all over town. A brief interview demonstrates this petite brunette's vivacious character, to match her pale, brown-eyed good looks, but Jenna would much rather suck down on the sizeable tool of Mark, the burly Canadian stud she is paired with. It did alarm me that Jenna had so much experience of Canadians' cocks as to make a comparison, but she just giggles sweetly as she gives him some fine oral.

Alexia Riley

Unfortunately, after a bright enough opening, I felt like this scene lost its way somewhere along the line, and pale, soft-bodied Alexia is neither enthusiastic nor attractive (for my preference) enough to really grab attention. The only time it really sparked up is when she's briefly wriggling her hips on a big dick, but otherwise she rarely smiles and looks somewhat ill at ease. As with all scenes here, the come shots are delivered on her face. She actually says she's looking forward to round two, so she must have enjoyed it more than it appeared.

Marie Mandalay
This gets difficult - do I give Marie credit for staying the course when matched up against two demanding studs (Brandon and Tony), give credit for some nasty but nice hardcore fucking and sucking? The bottom line is that redheaded Marie, appearing not long after her 18th birthday, though you might not guess it, is just not attractive to me. I really hate to be disparaging about people's looks, honestly, but she's a little too much on the soft-bodied side, and there's something about her eyes as well. There's also something about the guys' attitude as they get her on the floor to use her mouth (she can't quite swallow Brandon's cock), and then fuck her till she's just about had enough, that sits uneasily with me. She takes no more than a thumb in her ass, but generally this is a fierier scene than the preceding one, and ends with a pair of come shots in Marie's mouth, after which she says, in a manner oddly reminiscent of Marlon Brando, that this was a great experience.

Scarlet
If it was difficult not to insult Marie, then this is harder. For British readers, redhead Scarlet reminds me way too much of actress Patsy Palmer (Bianca in East Enders), and therefore the scene was ruined before it hardly started! To those unfamiliar with Patsy, suffice to say that this similarity is not a good thing. Scarlet has a trim body, with nice boobs, and a happy little manner about her. However, it's only when she kneels to fellate Mark, her partner for the scene, that I realise how petite she is. Can she take that huge thing, which seems to be about half the size of her whole head, inside her? Yes she can, and lets us know all about it, moaning in a high-pitched voice that suggests this is a real big deal for her! Then, incredibly, Scarlet offers up her little butt, Mark parts her fair-skinned buttocks and gently lubes her ass with fingers. He has to take it easy, but in it goes. Once she goes on top, there's a little more in it, but generally it's a very gentle intro to anal, with A2M for added naughtiness, which leads to Scarlet's dousing in a hefty facial finish.

Mariella
Appearing with a young fellow known only as Cock Boy, wholesome-looking blonde Mariella is a welcome change from the preceding trio. Softly curvaceous of body, with a pleasant personality (I wonder how she's going to handle this business), Mariella looks great riding on top with those firm tits sticking up, during some languid sex in what is, apparently, only her fifth scene. I liked the cute way she turns her lips in while sucking his cock, but there's nothing that can disguise what looks like a dry-mouthed blowjob by a nervous young lady! Her inexperience, and that of her partner, who seems to be her real-life partner too, shows (her in sucking cock, him in using it), but the laid-back sex lacks the ever-so-slightly malicious edge of the other scenes, and that's no bad thing.

The anal is a waste of time, though. Mariella is not the liveliest performer anyway, but she seems mighty apprehensive, Cock Boy can do no more than give her a little bit of his length, and this could readily have been omitted from an otherwise perfectly enjoyable scene. The facial doesn't appear to be happily received either (despite her claim in the extra footage that she does this at home all the time for Cock Boy), though she puts plenty of elbow grease into getting him off. In the end, I liked her a lot. She's very pretty, very natural (light, downy hair on the only unshaven pussy on show, and a pretty pussy at that) and a delight to watch.

Brooke Balentine
The opening of this scene with dark-haired, unconventionally cute North Carolina native Brooke takes place in a Vegas casino. Overall
I don't want to be too hard on Just Over Eighteen #2, because it's a perfectly respectable piece of work in many regards and I enjoyed quite a bit of it. However, from the constant references to the age of the girls (who are sometimes asked to make demeaning comments about themselves), through some of the male attitudes (David and his male performers push his teenage female cast quite hard), to the less than rigorous standards applied in casting (that's a polite way of saying it), there are a handful of minor niggles that mean this is strictly in the "good, but not great" category.

Jenna, Mariella and Brooke I liked, David Luger's shooting style is praiseworthy too and though it's nothing new or original, and doesn't pretend to be, Just Over Eighteen #2 has its moments and is worthy of consideration if you're looking for a teen-themed movie with a slightly rough edge. No need for David to go back to the word processor on this evidence, either - giving up the day job was a smart move.

DVD Comments
The picture quality is generally really decent, but there are some noticeable blips, presumably on the source tape. I thought the sound was a little bit lacking, and almost seems crackly in places. It's not enough to be off putting, and generally I was really impressed with the way that a fairly new company like Red Light District can pick up the baton and produce better quality products than some established makers.

The menus are really well presented - whoever did the graphics for these should be employed to revamp Red Light's horrible box covers, the cheap and nasty design of which is reminiscent of a certain other company. It doesn't give the best impression. However, the disc is good stuff - the extras are quite respectable. There's a smallish photo gallery (I won't mention any names but some of the pictures border on grotesque) of modest quality, but a nice "behind the scenes clip" and a good selection of trailers.
