Initial Expectations: Robby D.'s Handheld stuff has been great and seeing that The Great Roger T. Pipe wrote this one, I can't help but look forward to this one!

Initial Reaction: There's a great racial mix, but the movie's style didn't do a lot for me and it gave off a little much of the “it's just porn” feeling.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are okay. The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part. There were a couple areas which appeared a little muffled, but I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen, just as one would expect with Digital Sin. It has a slightly grainy look that's furthered with a little natural light and gives the movie a slightly artistic look that seems to either work for people or not. Normally I don't have a problem with it, but here it didn't work quite as well for me and I thought it gave the movie a fairly cheap look and feeling.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu appears after the opening credits, and works together a few stills with a bit of the movie for a pretty good first impression. The chapter menu goes with the standard fairly generic Digital Playground style giving a clip of each segment, a chapter number, and the name of each girl for her first chapter.

The Feature

A double penetration or especially Nicara going airtight would have really added a lot to the scene, but as it is I ended up a little bored and was easily distracted through most of the scene.

A Jungle Story is a pretty good movie that just didn't work that well for me. I like that there's a touch of story for the movie, and while it's a nice idea, at the same time it's not quite a feature but not quite an all sex movie either. This leaves the movie in a bit of limbo as there's just enough tying the scenes together that I kept looking for something a little more while never finding it. The other problem I had is the overall style. The editing is a bit choppy and goes between close-up camera angles or has the camera moving quickly from shot to shot. I know there's a lot of people who like this basic style, but it does very little for me giving the scene almost an ADD type of storytelling rather than letting Robby tell the sexual story smoothly from behind the camera. On the plus side, there is some nice humor to the setups and Robby has a great mix for the cast. This is definitely an interracial anal movie, and I love that he completely mixes it up with black guys, black girls, Latinos, white guys, white women, and Asians. I really like that he didn't submit to the thought that interracial is only when you have a black guy and a white woman. I've always found this thought a bit racist and I was immediately drawn to A Jungle Story because of it. Sadly, that wasn't enough for me here and although I know it's something a lot of others will like, the style of A Jungle Story just didn't do it for me and held this one back to barley making it past the average level. A Jungle Story has some nice things going for it, but the style of the story and editing left me wanting more throughout the movie.

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. If you want a great racial mix with anal action and a basic camera and editing style, this one should be well worth your money. If you want something a little smoother and stylish, you might want to rent this one first. The technical aspects are pretty good, but sadly there's no real effort put into the extras. This DVD could have used a bit more effort and its style didn't do a lot for me.

Note to Digital Playground: I hope you're not going back to releasing almost movie-only DVDs again.
