The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Fred J. Lincoln normally doesn’t do much for me, but he’s turned out some of his best movies for Wicked. I have some hope for this one.

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty average.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of Jenna, anybody wanting Wicked without the condoms

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting well balanced camera work

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: For the age of the feature, the technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn’t notice any background noises. The video is also very well done. It has just a hint of grain, but is well lit with few shadows.

Music: The music is pretty typical for mid nineties porn, but is nicely balanced with the rest fo the audio.

Menus: As usual, the extras show some nice effort. The main menu is nicely animated and works in a bit of the movie. The chapter menu is pretty standard, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a scene number.

The Feature

When Jenna has a little trouble with her pimp (John Decker) in a bar, she never expects Colt Steele to come to her rescue. They run off together, and soon after big time gambler Colt discovers Jenna’s the biggest jinx he could run across. He’s almost happy when she runs back to her pimp. Almost.

Scene 1 - Roxanne Hall and John Decker

When she won’t tell him where Jenna went, John makes Roxanne come out of retirement to take her place on the street. Of course, first he has to see if she’s still got what it takes. He pushes her down to her knees so she can suck his cock before taking her straight to the A. He works her ass through a few positions, as well as fucking her pussy, before pulling out and popping on her stomach.

This is an average scene at best. Roxanne and John are into it okay, but the camera work didn’t do anything for me. It seemed like it was afraid to show either Roxanne or John’s face, and concentrated heavily on the close-ups. This feels like it could have been a good scene, but it never made it close to that point.

Scene 2 - Jenna Jameson and Caressa Savage

Jenna and Caressa share a bathtub for the second scene. Jenna eats both of Caressa’s holes, spanks her ass, and fingers her pussy before they get out of the tub for Caressa to return the favor. They get back into the tub for Jenna to give Caressa a couple large dildos before Jenna gets a little rimming and dildo action. The girls each play with their ass a little while getting fucked before finishing things kissing the dildo and each other.

This is a surprisingly hot scene! The girls really look to be into each other and put some nice energy and vocals into it. It even finishes things up nicely, looking like the girls are both satisfied rather than cutting it off feeling like there’s still plenty to go.

Scene 3 - Jenna Jameson, Nico Treasures, and Alex Sanders

Jenna helps fulfill Nico’s husband Alex’s fantasy of a threeway in the next scene. While Alex heads to get Jenna a bit of vodka, she and Nico start things out with a little kissing on the bed. Alex walks around to enjoy the view before moving around to tongue Jenna’s holes from behind. They keep the oral love flowing between them before Alex fucks Nico while Jenna rides her face. He also takes Jenna from behind as well before giving her an okay facial.

This is a slightly above average scene. There’s some nice chemistry, but once again the camera work left more than a little to be desired. It also seems to move along very quickly, and I think it would have been much better if it would have been about five minutes longer.

Scene 4 - Julie Rage and Colt Steele

While Jenna works, Colt gets it on with Julie at a bar after closing time. Julie’s clothes magically disappear, and after she gets Colt stripped down she gets down to mouth his manhood. He tongues and fingers her in return before climbing up to fuck her. Julie turns around so Colt can fuck her ass doggie style before he strokes himself onto her tits and face.

This is another slightly above average scene. Julie has some nice vocals, but she seems to almost overdo them. As usual the camera work leaves a lot to be desired, as you never even get to see the penetration and Julie’s reaction when Colt is supposedly fucking her ass. Little things like this always stick out to me, and because I don’t get to see the anal penetration any way other than in a close-up I normally doubt that they ever occurred.

Scene 5 - Jacklyn Lick and Colt Steele

After Jenna leaves him, Colt heads back into the arms of Jacklyn, his former lover. She takes him into her arms, as well as her throat, before letting him tongue her twat. Colt nails her from behind as well as missionary style before giving Jacklyn a nice pop on the chest.

This is a fairly hot scene. Yes, the camera work leaves more than a little to be desired, but Jacklyn really gets into it well. She looks like she’s having a great time and makes the scene worthwhile.

Scene 6 - Jenna Jameson and John Decker

Finally, Jenna comes crawling back to John in the bar to get her job back. John has her give the rest of the bar a show before pulling her back and pushing her to her knees to suck his cock. John rewards her with some twat tonguing before laying her back on the bar to do her. He also gives it to her form behind before giving Jenna a nice facial.

This is a slightly above average scene, but not by much. The only thing that really sets this scene apart from the others is the great tease Jenna starts the scene out with. Jenna has been one of the masters of the tease for years, and even though this is one of her earlier movies with Wicked it’s on full display here. Other than that, this is pretty much the same scene as before. Once it gets onto the main action it moves quickly and almost feels rushed while cobbling together some lame camera angles.

Jinx is a pretty average porno. Jenna does a very nice job in front of the camera, showing some nice acting talent as well as doing a great job sexually. The camera seems to eat her up, and perhaps that’s the problem here. After eating up Jenna it didn’t have room for anybody else. The camera work is the biggest problem with this entire movie. I’m not sure if it’s obsessed with sex or if it’s afraid of it. It works in some nice angles during the blowjobs, but the rest of the time it focuses so closely on the penetration that it’s hard to feel anything else about the scenes. There are some positions where you never get to see the penetration along with the reaction of the stars to the penetration, and most of the time it’s so out of balance between distance shots and close-ups that I barely got any kind of feeling of chemistry in the scenes. Unless you’re a major fan of Jenna, you might want to skip Jinx.

The feature photo gallery lasts about two minutes and the behind the scenes gallery lasts a little over a minute, and in each case you get about six seconds per good looking framed photo. There’s also a list of AVN and Wicked DVD winners and nominations, weblinks, the Wicked Casino, a company profile, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Wicked’s DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $30 with many stores offering them for around $21. Rent this one before you buy it. The sex is okay at best and there isn’t much for extras. The most impressive thing about this one is the technical aspects, which are very nicely done for the age of the feature.

Note to Wicked Pictures: It’s great to see you putting as much effort as you did into the technical aspects of this one, but the DVD as a whole lacks compared to many of your other Jenna titles. I hope you consider reducing the price on this one a bit to reflect what you’re giving the customer.
