I've watched a lot of female masturbation videos, but this is the first "how-to" for me. I had thought that the internet put an end to this sort of thing, since there are plenty of DIY articles, everything from how to locate your clit to your G-spot to pairing wines and dildos with lubes.

Regardless, Jessica Drake hosts this "instructional" video. It's broken into one main feature and three "sex scenes." The main feature begins with Jessica going over the basics, followed by some discussion of the topic with the three performers, Julia Ann, Lily Labeau and Missy Stone. Lily does some demo.

In the "sex scenes" section, each performer masturbates on-camera in separate segments (Julia and Missy each get about 8 minutes and Lily gets about 14). Each scene can be played with Jessica's commentary or without.

There's a decent amount of variety here: Julia Ann has big, fake boobs and would be described as a MILF, Lily and Missy look younger and natural (and small-breasted). Julia and Lily are white; Jessica is black.

Demonstrations and scenes have some variety as well. During the main feature everyone diddles in a chair, but for the "scenes," Julia gets a bed, Lily in and out of a chair, and Missy works herself in a shower. Likewise, during the feature there are demonstrations of finger only, followed by some dildos and vibrators. Sex scenes are all toy time, except for Missy who rides the detachable shower-head.

Special features: none, other than trailers for other Jessica Drake instructional vids.

Production values: well done. The video is clean, clear and colorful. Audio is good. There is an annoying music track during the instructional feature, but it's mostly held down to almost ambient level.

The DVD setup is spartan. The main menu has the main feature, "sex scenes" and trailers. "Sex scenes" is sub-menued for each of the three performers. There are a good number of chapter stops, however, so you can flip around.

Final verdict: it's so-so. I suppose it's a couple's movie; it's got information for the woman and porn stars for the guy, as opposed to something by Betty Dodson or others which feature "real" women and amateurs. Plus it seemed a bit superficial to me—I was expecting a lot more info on the differences between various kinds of vibrators and dildos, of which there's an astonishing variety these days.

All in all it strikes me as trying to be the middle between instruction and porn, where it really isn't good at one or the other but it doesn't fail outright either. But it seems to me the viewer would be better off buying a pure-instruction video or a pure-masturbation video and do it right.
