Initial Expectations: I've heard that Celeste is going back to the more artistic style for this release. That style really grew on me watching her movies, so I can't help but look forward to this one even if it didn't have such a great cast.

Initial Reaction: It's darn hot and a lot of fun.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a touch on the artistic side, but pretty well done. The audio is well balanced, but there's frequently a hiss in the background that didn't seem like it belonged. I'm not sure if it was a more experimental type of music or what, but it sounded more like a sandpaperish hiss like somebody was shuffling their feet all around and interfered with the scenes a little for me. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and has a touch of artistic style. The camera work is smooth with nice angles, but there are a few soft focus blurs and the entire presentation has a washed look that I'm sure some people won't like. As for myself, I really kind of liked it. It's not something I want to see in every movie, but it hearkened back to Celeste's earlier artistic styles while still giving the real time video and audio that so many others want. I really liked the visual style of Jesse Jane: Lust, but the audio seemed like it could be cleaned up a little.

Music: There's a little music here and there, and it always rests quietly in the background.

Menus: The main menu blends a few stills of Jesse and Nikki with a little generic animation for an okay first impression. The chapter menu is a touch generic giving a clip of each scene and a chapter number, but also gives the name of the girl(s) in each scene with the first chapter of their scene.

The Feature

Jesse Jane: Lust tries to capture the playful side of passion. The scenes often start out with little games between the performers, but sometimes there's a bit of the jealousy that goes with lust as well.

Scene 1 – Jesse Jane, Nikki Benz, and Ben English

Jesse starts out in white boots and a little black bikini checking Nikki out as she lies on the floor in white shoes, black panties, a collar, and her hands in black bondage mittens. Ben walks in right after Jesse leaves and walks past her, and Nikki crawls after him to be by him as he sits in a chair. Scene 2 – Stoya and Jonny Sinz

This scene had me completely drawn in from start to finish, and in addition to being one of my favorite sin the movie, has me looking forward to whatever Stoya is doing next. Scene 3 – Jesse Jane and Tony deSergio

Scene 5 – Bree Olson and Tony deSergio

Scene 6 – Jesse Jane and Charles Dera

Jesse Jane: Lust is a very enjoyable fuck flick. It's not quite a gonzo or all sex feature, but never has enough to tie the scenes together to call it a feature either. The scenes all start out with a little playful tease that builds plenty of chemistry between the performers, and the chemistry stays throughout the scenes. As usual with Celeste there's a more artistic look to the video than your typical porno, and the visual style is enhanced further by some of the very nice effort that Celeste always seems to put into costumes for the cast. Although Jesse Jane will always have a soft (make that hard) spot in me, it was Stoya who once again blew me away with a great anal scene combined with a wonderfully playful opening and very expressive eyes. This may only be the second scene I've watched with Stoya (the first would be in Jack’s P.O.V. 9), but she's really impressed me and so far has me looking forward to all she has ahead of her. Kimberly Kole's scene, on the other hand, had a very hard time keeping up with the rest of the movie for me, while not showing anything really wrong. Jesse Jane: Lust is a great fuck flick that blends a fun spirit, artistic style, and plenty of passion for great results.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery can be viewed either manually or as a slide show lasting a little under four minutes with about six seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. There's also a bio for Jesse Jane, contact information, and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts just over nine minutes and features Jamal Johnson behind the camera with editing by Drax. After a cool opening that takes some poor shots at religion, Brah Bones welcomes the viewers and it moves through the set with a few shots of the cast. Jesse talks about losing her virginity with plenty of spirit before Stoya talks about getting wild with whiskey bottles and having a mild rubber allergy. Jamal gets in on the action with Nikki and a bit of spanking before Bree chats while getting ready and Kimberly poses for some stills. Finally there's a bit more fun with Jesse. This featurette leaves me with mixed feelings. On one hand, there's some fun interviews, plenty of eye candy, and a fun Terminator vibe and style. On the other, there's plenty of shots at Christians and conservatives that made me want to reach for the remote and possibly skip any features Drax might make in the future due to a blindness that seems to think that only conservatives are a threat to the first amendment. In the end, this comes off as a pretty good behind the scenes featurette with a great effort to making it fun and a bit unique.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. If you like artistic porn with plenty of heat and a fun vibe, this one's going to be well worth the money. The scenes are all well above average and there's some nice effort put into the extras. The technical aspects are a bit on the artistic side, and fall a little short from my normal expectations for Digital Playground due to the audio quality. This is a very enjoyable release that's worth checking out.
