Synopsis:
Insurance investigator Laura (Jenna Jameson) receives a mysterious invitation to the empty Stardust Club where she and her friend (Kendall Karlson) get hypnotised by Madam Zora (Dru Berrymore). The next day Laura has to investigate and find an expensive stolen necklace or she's going to get her job dropped. As she investigates she finds she may know more about the robbery than she should.

Audio/Video:
Jenna Loves Diamonds is presented with a variety of audio tracks for the feature film, and at least one of them should please any viewer of the film. There is one English 2.0 Stereo track and three English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround tracks. One of the 5.1 tracks is the standard audio track, one has the music at a higher volume and the last one has the sex at a higher volume. There are not any foreign language tracks or subtitle options for the feature film.

Jenna Loves Diamonds is presented in two different formats on two different discs in this release. The first disc contains the film in high definition Blu-ray format in an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of approximately 1.78:1, which contains a flawless presentation in 1080i. The second disc contains the film on a standard DVD in the non-anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of approximately 1.78:1. The only problem with the standard DVD is that the film isn't anamorphic on it. Other than that the presentation is flawless. I love the fact that Club Jenna released the film on both Blu-ray and standard DVD in this release and I wish more studios would do that with their Blu-ray releases.

Special Features:
There are a few extras included in this release, which are all in standard definition. There is a photo gallery, which contains 47 stills on a track and a behind the scenes photo gallery, with 13 stills on a track. There are four bonus scenes included, one from I Dream of Jenna with Jenna Jameson, Nikita Denise and Autumn Austin, one from Brea's Prowl, one from Jenna's Provocateur, and one from Runway. There are also trailers included on the disc.

Disc Design/Navigation:
This set contains two discs. The first disc, which contains the movie only, is a Blu-ray disc and the second disc, which contains the movie and extras, is a standard definition DVD. Jenna Loves Diamonds' menus are animated and look nice. There are 6 chapter stops available from the chapter menu and 41 chapter stops within the feature film itself. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.

General Review:
Jenna Loves Diamonds has been languishing in the Club Jenna vaults since 2002, back when Jenna Jameson was still performing, and was finally released in 2008. Despite huge delay with the movie which generally indicates a problem with the film, mainstream or adult, I went into the movie with high expectations. Michael Zen is a great director and the movie stars several of my favorite actresses and actors, Jenna Jameson, Aurora Snow, Randy Spears, and Cherry Rain. Ultimately the movie ended up being a disappointment for me.

Odd filters and oversaturating of certain colors happen during the movie including portions of the sex scenes. I've never had a problem with arty adult movies, when the art flows with the movie and scenes instead of against it. Here, the arty aspects of the movie drew me out from it during the plotted portions and completely worked against the sex scenes. The movie ultimately would have been better off without the effects added.

There also appears to be a problem with having enough footage for the movie. In the sex scene with Cherry Rain and Dillon Day during the blow job another camera man is in view for a second and the rest of that shot includes a studio light. The intercutting of the sex acts in the Jenna Jameson and Justin Sterling scene also make it look like there wasn't enough footage to edit together a chronological sex scene. I don't know if this was due to lack of footage to begin with or if some footage got damaged or destroyed over time.

Besides the effects and the apparent lack of footage the sex scenes aren't bad, but also for the most part aren't wonderful. The best scene in the movie is the pairing of Aurora Snow and Randy Spears. Their being in the movie seems pushed in to make another sex scene but, since it ends up being the best in the movie, I won't complain. In a surprising turn, the Jenna Jameson and Justin Sterling pairing, which I expected to be the best in the movie, came across the most lackluster. Much of that may be due to the editing of the scene though. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal sex with lesbianism, pussy eating, pussy fingering, blow jobs, anilingus, hand jobs, and strap-on use. There are condoms used all of the male/female scenes except for Aurora Snow and Randy Spears' pairing and Jenna Jameson and Justin Sterling's pairing.

The plot, which is a fun idea, also seems rushed and never seems to be given the time to develop. I know it's just a porno, but when I watch a feature film I like a fully developed plot. The plot is no more rushed than your average feature film made in this period, but there was potential for so much more. Instead of rushing through the mystery in the movie, if it had been more spread out and developed the actual mystery could have been intact. The director and cast is capable of more and overall Jenna Loves Diamonds ends up being an average adult feature.

Parting Thoughts:
Despite the talented cast and director, Jenna Loves Diamonds is ultimately a let down. If you are a collector of any of the cast or the director and have to have all of their work, this is a great edition of the movie. If you aren't such a rabid fan, I'd give the movie a rental before purchasing it.
