Jenna Loves Diamonds Review

Preliminaries
First off, I don't really watch a lot of features, or that much of anything from studios like Club Jenna, Vivid, Wicked, etc. But, I have nothing against those movies, and I will still check out some of them every now and then, if the cast and the theme interests me. When I was offered a copy of Jenna Loves Diamonds in exchange for writing a review, and I found out that Cherry Rain was in it, I said I was game.

Although this is a new release in 2008, the movie was actually filmed in late 2002.

There is no anal penetration in this movie, although there is some girl on girl ass licking in one scene. There are four boy on girl scenes. Condoms are used in Ashley Moore and Cherry Rain's scenes, but not in Aurora Snow's scene with Randy Spears, or Jenna Jameson's scene with Justin Sterling.

What I Liked
Jenna's two lesbian scenes are quite erotic and arousing. I know they are kind of artsy, but they are done really well, I think. Probably the fact that both of those scenes (apparently) only happen in Jenna's head while she is under hypnosis allowed for there to be some seductive language by Dru Barrymore, and some eye contact with the camera by Jenna and her co-stars, Kendall Karlson and Dru.

Cherry Rain's scene is okay. The first time I watched it, I might have even said it is pretty good.

While I was watching the movie for the first time, the plot was actually pretty enjoyable, even if Cherry Rain's acting can be a little too giggly.

What I Disliked
I said the plot is enjoyable while watching the movie for the first time. But after you have watched it, if you want the plot to still make sense to you, you had best not think about it too much.

The package does not say “Shot in HD” anywhere, but I think it was one of the early porn movies shot that way. My evidence for that is that it is presented in the 16:9 aspect ratio, and the end credits credit Justin Sterling as the director of videography rather than as the director of photography. But, they went for the 'film look.' For the most part, I don't mind that, and in some parts of this movie I even like that. But in other places, the picture could be too grainy, and sometimes there were also issues with light and shadows, and skintone. These scenes were filmed with two camera, and for about a second or so in the Cherry Rain scene, one of the cameras was in the view of the other camera. It doesn't seem like it would have been that hard to edit out, but they didn't. A light is also visible for some time in that same scene, but I guess where that scene was set, the light could be considered part of the set.

I like Aurora Snow all right. But her scene in this film didn't do much for me. And Ashley Moore just isn't my type.

I didn't really like the last scene, with Jenna and Justin Sterling. It's a little artsy. I really can't explain why I liked Jenna's two girl/girl scenes that are a little artsy, but not this scene, but that's just the way it is. There are some skintone and graininess issues in this scene, and also since this is the last scene, what I said about the plot making more sense if you don't think about it too much is probably a factor.

DVD Quality
I've already talked some about the picture quality above. The disc gives you several options for the movie audio. I watched it with an option to have the music softer. It's nice to have that option.

The DVD packaging is really very nice. It's not a standard DVD case with a cover, it's a glossy card stock and clear plastic affair created just for this disc. It's just a shame that Cherry Rain's name is not listed with the rest of the cast on the cover cast list. And the back cover says there is a Behind the Scenes. What it doesn't say is that this disc has BTS photos, but not a BTS video.

Besides the BTS stills, there are movie stills, trailers, and four bonus scenes: an all girl threesome from I Dream of Jenna with Jenna Jameson, Nikita Denise, and Autumn Austin, a boy/girl scene with Brea Bennet from Brea's Prowl, a boy/girl scene with Manuel Ferrara and Ashton Moore from Jenna's Provocateur and a boy/girl scenes with Krystal Steal and Nick Manning taken from Steal Runway.

Overall Thoughts
This movie can be arousing, but it is probably not going to change the minds of people who don't think they like movies from Club Jenna and similar companies. But on the other hand, if you like Jenna Jameson and/or features from companies like Club Jenna, then you might want to give this a look. Especially if you like Jenna's girl/girl scenes, or want to see more Cherry Rain.
