INTRODUCTION:
Jules Jordan is certainly one of today's most celebrated gonzo directors, especially among those who are dubious of what the "gonzo" genre has become over the last few years.  He works within his niche to a high degree of consistency, not only with the quality of talent he chooses to feature, but also in the technical quality of video he captures.  It is for this reason that Jules is not usually the first out of the gate when it comes to the freshest talent, or the hottest girls, but he can almost always be counted on to be among the best.  That said, Jules' work can run hot and cold with me.  On the hot end comes the incredible Flesh Hunter #2, probably one of the most highly praised, and praiseworthy gonzo discs of the last 5 years.  From start to finish, it features incredible girls, incredible outfits, and incredible smut, all with a consistently magical edge about it that defies description.  On the cold end, however, are a number of his more fetish specific lines, such as Weapons of Ass Destruction, Ass Worship, or Feeding Frenzy, which very often seem to fall into the formula trap.  While it's certainly a very successful formula, my preference tends to be for the edgier, and more risky spontaneity of Joey Silvera rather than the tried and true "curve exploration" that Jules has become so famous for.  On the other hand, Jules for me has still been worth revisiting now and again.  Take for example, Jenna Haze, who in my eyes was a gorgeous and vibrant gonzo goddess before her onward-and-upward move to Jill Kelly productions.  She brought an exciting, teenage fire to any project she tackled during this period, and her work with Jules was exceptionally stellar.  In contrast, because of her pumped breasts and lack of enthusiasm, Krystal Steal is a fair amount less to my liking than Jenna, but once again, her best (and some of her only) gonzo scenes have been in front of Jules' lens.  

This is certainly not true of everyone, but for me, the bottom line is this: unlike Joey, who admittedly is unique with regard to my reaction to his work, Jules' name on the box is not enough.  If, however, his name is accompanied by the name of the right girl, then the acquisition of his work becomes a no-brainer.  It's not Jules' style I love, it's his ability to capture those rare, exquisite moments of beauty with the girls I love that bring me back to his work again and again.  In my estimation, this razor-thin focus of purpose is at once both his greatest strength and his greatest weakness.  It's what brings me back when I can't get it anywhere else, and it's ultimately what pushes me away when personality and spontaneity are usurped in favor of camera placement curve-teasing.  It's this balancing act between eye-candy and personality that is probably one of the most difficult things to truly master in the gonzo genre, and Jules, while not perfect, is certainly one of the genre's most capable directors.  It follows that a compilation featuring Jenna Haze in all the scenes she did with Jules Jordan is simply irresistible to me, and as far as the "battle of the century" that is touted on the box, Jenna is the clear odds-on favorite in my eyes.  Therefore, here I am, with keyboard in hand, ready to rehash once again some of the most talked about and reviewed modern gonzo scenes in the recent porn memory, except this time, they all happen to be on one disc.

The Girl
Jenna Haze has certainly made enough of an impression on me in her relatively short stint on the gonzo stage to become one of my all time favorites.  She's a very petite brunette with small gorgeous breasts, beautiful thin legs, and a vibrant go-get-'em personality that simply doesn't quit.  Her teeth are a little on the imperfect side, but that doesn't stop me from finding her smile to be wonderfully unique and addictive.  Her smile makes me smile, and if that's not a recipe for becoming a slavering fan boy, I don't know what is.  Jenna is quite simply, my type, and even as a JKP contract performer, I sometimes pick up a disc of hers just to revisit my old flame.  Gonzo or not, she still looks as beautiful as ever.  As if I haven't said enough already, Jenna is the primary reason I bought this disc.

The Gist
I've had this scene in my catalogue for a while, and my wife and I have watched it on a couple occasions.  She affectionately calls this scene "The Anal", and apart from a few brief moments of pain during the initial penetrations, Jenna seems to get into it here.  One thing is absolutely certain, however, the scene is shot exquisitely and really goes a long way to demonstrating why I find Jenna so blindingly attractive.  She's dressed up nicely, with some gorgeous white stockings that frame and accentuate her small ass.  The clothes come off in pieces during the scene, but never disappear completely.  Finally, the scene finishes off with a great facial, and a little bit of "finger lick" cum feeding before Jenna says goodbye with a smile.  It's certainly not the most energetic Jenna Haze scene I've witnessed, but I'd be hard pressed to find a scene where she looked better than she does here.

The Girl
Much has been said about the merits of Krystal's ass.  I don't generally consider myself an ass man, so my opinion in that regard probably won't mean much.  I suppose if you like asses, however, you could do a hell of a lot worse.  Much has also been made of Krystal having looks reminiscent of Christina Aguilera.  I've never really seen the resemblance, and believe me, Christina's look is something about which I am a man of CONSIDERABLE fan-boy knowledge, and I'll take Christina over Krystal any ol' day of the week.  You can't fault people for their preferences, however, and many people find Krystal to be the cat's meow.  In any case, Krystal is a nice looking blonde, with a super tight body, a curvaceous ass, and a pair of unnatural tits that just kind of ruin the whole package for me.  Nevertheless, I do my best to look past them.

The Girl
Aurora has always been sort of iffy for me.  She's extremely pretty, make no mistake, and she does practically everything under the gonzo sun in terms of the acts required by the demanding porn audience.  My preference though is not for the acts, but for a girl who's not afraid to give up a little of her personality through it all, and although I could be wrong, I just don't feel that Aurora does that.  Even if she does, it strike's me more as a prettied up wall of protection than it does her real personality expressing itself, and that's enough of a wood-killer to stop me from seeking her out.  Perhaps it's just simply that other girls' prettied up walls fool me better than Aurora's does.  We all have an eye for blind love at one time or another, I can't deny it.  No matter how fake Jenna Haze might seem to others, for example, to me, she can hardly do any wrong.  It's one of those complex curse-blessings of porn and sexual attraction.  Anyone who says sex is simple is fooling themselves.  In any case, Aurora is still frightfully pretty, and in all other respects is certainly the type of girl I like to see.  She's a petite honey blonde with long hair and a nice smile.

Jenna looks fantastic in this scene, as always, dressed at its beginning in a "Got Dick?" t-shirt which is shed all too quickly.  She does have a much harder time with the anal than Aurora does, and there are clearly moments of discomfort, but it didn't seem to me to cross the line to real pain.  Jules is gentle with her, and she eventually settles into it fairly well, making things interesting to watch.  The scene is well shot and nicely choreographed, as usual.  However, Aurora is just a major wood-killer for me, and it's probably unfair of me to give any other reason than simply personal taste.  There wasn't much spark here from my perspective and on this particular compilation, this is the weakest scene so far.

The Gist
I have to admit, Krystal is growing on me.  I still dislike her breasts, but she's got quite the hot little body when you get right down to it.  This is a fairly low key scene, and it has included both the separated tease and fucking scenes from the original Flesh Hunter in a combined uninterrupted unit.  It's classic Jules, take-it-slow-and-steady fucking, and it keeps you hooked with great camera angles and good old-fashion girl exploration.  Krystal gives good, but not fantastic energy, and despite an obvious aversion to it, she also takes a darn nice facial.  It's not the best scene on the disc, but it's definitely good for a stroke or two when you're in a little Krystal-mood, Jules style.

The Gist
Excuse me while I have my own orgasm.  This was a surprisingly outstanding scene.  It was very reminiscent of Alexa Rae's scene in Flesh Hunter #2.  There was some excellent tease.  Krystal just looks fabulous, if I do say so myself, and when the fucking does finally begin, this is pure eye-candy at its finest.  Not only that, Krystal has a low key sexuality about her that is oddly addictive.  I'm finally beginning to understand Jenna Jameson's interest in Krystal as a contract girl for Club Jenna.  I can't exactly put my finger on why, but at least for today, this is my favorite scene on the disc so far.  Of course, your mileage may vary.

I'm not really one for blowjob only scenes, and this one really isn't too much of an exception except that it happens to be Jenna Haze giving the blowjobs.  She looks great, and she answers some sexy questions at the beginning of the scene, but other than a lot of cute-girl-cocksucking, and a fair amount of swallowed cum, this was some pretty unremarkable fair by my tastes.

PRODUCTION QUALITY:
This disc is typical of Jules Jordan's very measured and care-laden production techniques.  It's methodical, it's beautiful, and from my perspective, it can also be predictable and boring.  Some people can't get enough of Jules' great ability to show the best features of the gorgeous girls he works with, and that is certainly an understandable feeling.  For me though, his structure is a tad too rigid at times, and that can sometimes translate into somewhat less interesting work.  It's certainly hard to pinpoint, but the best way I can say it is that for me, Jules' scenes often have plenty of beauty, and even a fair amount of energy.  What they most often lack, however is an edge--an unpredictable spark that makes the average gonzo scene into something truly memorable.  The up side is that Jules has touched on this magic in the past, and some of the scenes included here are examples.  My feeling is that the very fact that his work is so far above the gonzo pack already to merit discussions of this type at all is a testament to his talent, and his potential for still more growth as a director.  In all, Jules presents some of the best produced wall to wall sex vids in the industry, and this collection of scenes is no exception.

DVD QUALITY:
The DVD quality of this release is excellent, and therefore typical of most of Evil Angel's offerings.

EXTRAS:
The only thing new here that hasn't been released on previous discs is a taped photo shoot with Krystal Steal.  It's only marginally interesting of itself, but all the behind the scenes action from the original titles is all reproduced here, and there's some exquisitely cool stuff there.  Jenna Haze describes her futon ass fuck, then takes a shower after her Flesh Hunter #1 scene.  There's an unfortunate awkward moment in Flesh Hunter #3 when Jenna refuses to do A2M for Jules.  Krystal expresses her distaste for her facial in Flesh Hunter #1.  It's all there, and it's all interesting, but just as I normally do, I would recommend you save the behind the scenes for after you've taken care of your hard on.  In some cases, and for some people, there might be moments that take the wind out of your sails just when you're hoping for a big gust.  Also included are still photo galleries for both girls, videographies, and a cast list by scene that tells you what movie each scene is from.  Oddly, there is no fetish menu on this disc, which is unusual for an Evil Angel release.

OVERALL:
Eight scenes, two girls--in idiosyncratic, MLyons-land, Jenna was the heavy favorite going into this contest, and she did not disappoint.  These are five of Jenna Haze's most popular and talked about scenes in hardcore porn circles.  The weakest among them, in my opinion is the Flesh Hunter #3 scene, but that is purely because of her scene-mate, Aurora Snow, a girl who does very little for me.  In contrast to that, however, Jenna waltzes through a three man gang-bang, two one on one fuck fests, and a dual swallowing blowjob that appeal directly to my "petite slut" fetish like very few other scenes have.  Krystal Steal, on the other hand, was a serious underdog coming in.  She had fewer scenes, and a somewhat less appealing look at a cursory glance.  She quickly grew on me however, with her low key sexuality and a tight yet shapely young body, finally turning in a scene from Flesh Hunter #4 that in some strange and unexpected fashion, blew me away.  On any other day, Jenna would have wiped the floor in a head to head contest that would have ended in embarrassment for Krystal--but today was not like any other.  In the fickle world of porn fan-dom, there is no real loyalty, and for me, today's long shot, come-from-behind, by-a-nose winner is Krystal Steal.  I'm as surprised as anyone.  Ultimately, however, this collection boasts some truly fabulous scenes from one of the premiere gonzo directors working today.  Jules' approach may be formulaic, but it's a formula that works.  If you happen to be a fan of either or both of these lovely women, and happen to desire an all-in-one disc that condenses some of their best gonzo work into one neat little package, the real winner here is neither Krystal nor Jenna--it's you.
