Initial Expectations: Celeste normally impresses me behind the camera and it's hard to go wrong with Jana Cova in front of it. I can't help but look forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done, which is nothing new with Digital Playground. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. It's nicely lit and has just a touch of softness to it to give it a slightly more artistic feeling.

Music: There's a bit of music to start out each scene. It's normally nicely balanced with a good style, and always fades out when the action really gets going.

Menus: The main menu nicely blends a bit of animation, a few clips from the movie, and a bit of the cover still for a good first impression. The chapter menu is pretty basic, and lets you choose a scene based on a clip of the scene, a chapter number (which doesn't correspond to the chapters in the movie), and the name of the girls involved in each scene for the first chapter in the scene.

The Feature

Jana Cova: Lust collects six scenes which are unrelated with the exception of having the same lightly artistic style.

There's nice chemistry and a nice balance between the girls, and the toys fit into the scene pretty good instead of just feeling like a crutch. This is a nice start for the movie.

This is a good scene. The opening has a fun feeling and helps to set up a little chemistry between Bobbi and the guys. Just like in Maya's scene the anal could have went much longer here, and with how well Bobbi was taking it (which is no surprise) the scene could have easily had much more anal than vaginal. In fact, once the anal started I couldn't help but wonder why it took so long to get there. This is a good scene to close the movie, but once again I couldn't help but think that it had the potential to be better.

Jana Cova: Lust is a hot and fun fuck flick. The setups are kept simple, but there's always a playful touch to them that helps keep the movie light and fun. It also helps that there's very nice chemistry and camera work for each scene. I think Jana's scene with Brianna Love was my favorite here, but surprisingly Maya Gates and Bobbi Starr's scene come in at the opposite end simply because they both felt like they had the potential to be much better than they were if they'd been a little longer or a little harder. This may be due to Digital Playground trying to keep their movies a bit more couples friendly, but with the intensity in each of these scenes I think it would have seemed completely natural. The scenes also lacked a little in places due to some of the editing feeling a little extra choppy. Jana Cova: Lust is a very enjoyable fuck flick that's well worth checking out despite some of its faults.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery can be viewed either manually or as a slide show lasting a little under four minutes with about six seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. Trailers are included for Pirates 2, Island Fever 4, Icon, Shay: All American Girl, Jana: Sexual Freak 4, Image, Pirates, and Hannah: Sexual Freak 5. There's also weblinks, a behind the scenes featurette, and cumshot recaps.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts just under eleven minutes. Jana starts out talking with Robby about cock, toys, and sexual regrets before Jamal chats with Leigh and shoots her scene. Maya also chats a little before shooting her scene before Bobbi talks about being an anal slut who's excited about her upcoming scene. The guys screw off a little before shooting the scene with the closing credits giving plenty of footage of Jerry giving himself a hand. This is an okay behind the scenes featurette. There's a couple chuckles, but the interviews are so short that they don't add much and most of the time is spent just showing the scenes being shot. This one doesn't add much to the overall DVD.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. Aim for the low end with this one. The movie's good, but also feels like it had the potential to be a little better. The technical aspects show the usual care from Digital Playground and there's a little effort put into the extras as well. This is a good release.

Note to Digital Playground: With a movie as short as this, a little more effort towards the extras would be nice either with a longer BTS, extra footage, or a bonus scene.
