Jail Babes 23 Review

The “Jail Babes” series is about four years old at this writing. That’s worth knowing. It dates the onset of my affliction. I call it porno myopia, for lack of a better term and for lack of a better explanation of how I’ve managed to sit this series out all these years. To judge by “Jail Babes, Vol. 23,” I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

I don’t know that I can help the “JB” veterans out there. I can’t tell you that this film is better or worse than previous installments. I can’t tell you what sets it apart or whether it’s all of a piece with everything that has come before. What I can tell you, though, is that it’s 90 minutes of exceptional porn.

So naïve was I that when I came upon this title I thought it was a prison flick. Well, for those of you in the same boat as I was (no doubt with a less embarrassing explanation for your presence there), I’ll dispel that notion right now. “Jail Babes, Vol. 23” is a collection of five sex scenes featuring four female porn stars who, at one time or another, were arrested and taken to jail. The offenses in this installment range from assault and battery to lewd and lascivious behavior. First the girl tells her story, then she has sex. It’s simple, and it works like a charm.

Another notion dispelled—this time by the film itself—is that porn stars are just like other girls except they get paid to have sex on camera. But then, who believes this anyway? I knew a stripper once who got taken downtown; other than that, the only jailbird I’ve ever known is myself, nabbed in a shoplifting incident when I was just a kid. The girls in this film don’t live in that idyllic neighborhood where the chick next door is sweet and demure and horrified by pornography.

Take Kennedy, a good-looking babe with a great body who went to the slammer for beating up her boyfriend. She pairs up with Kyle Stone, and by the end of their session she’s asking him to cum in her mouth. He obliges, of course, and she does him right by swallowing most of it. Kennedy’s a gamer, all right. Having said that she doesn’t much like deep throat, she goes ahead and takes Kyle deep several times, nearly gagging in the process, but controlling herself very well.

Lovely Kianna, described on the boxcover as a “huge-titted hottie,” comes next, in two scenes, the first with Dominica Leoni and the second with Gino Greco. Kianna’s crime was solicitation; seems that while working as a stripper in Canada, she fell into an undercover cop’s trap and agreed to a $500 blowjob. Here, she finally gets to give Gino that blowjob, and what she lacks in quality she makes up for in quantity. It’s a good scene, dulled only by the fact that Gino seems a bit too aggressive for Kianna’s liking. A better scene is the preceding girl/girl tryst, in which the girls are well matched.

The last two scenes feature Sabrina—busted at a swinger’s party—and Aurora Snow, who was arrested for having sex in a bookstore. Though Sabrina admits her preference (and that of her husband) is women, she gets it on here with Brandon Iron while her husband watches, in a scene that includes the film’s only anal activity. Aurora is paired with Brett Rockman. She gives him a great blowjob with lots of eye contact and takes his load in her mouth at the end of scene. (Unlike Kennedy, she drools most of it out again.)

The “Jail Babes 23” disc contains a paltry selection of bonus material—merely a slide show and previews—but I haven’t quite come around to the belief that “bonuses” materially affect my movie-watching experience, anyway. It’s still the feature that really counts, and this is one feature that could have gotten by with nothing more than a menu and chapter stops. The stories are fun, the chemistry, for the most part, is exceptional for a porn film, and the sex is highly erotic. More than that, I don’t ask.
