The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done, which is nothing new with Digital Playground. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there were some background camera noises that did interfere with the scenes. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks very nice. There's just a touch of grain, but the camera work is smooth and the lighting is well done.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu blends a little animation with a still of Stoya for a simple but nice first impression. The chapter menu is much the same way, and lets you choose a scene bases on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number, as well as the name of the girl in her first chapter.

The Feature

Jack's back, and he's looking to get a bit more action. Unlike many POV movies, Jack's POV actually takes the time to give the scene a quick setup with plenty of tease, and that lets a little chemistry build in each scene. As usual, Robby D. plays “Jack” behind the camera, but when it's time for the sex somebody else steps in.

Scene 1 – Gianna Michaels and Jerry

Unfortunately Robby had problems keeping Tommy's head all the way out of the scene once again, but this is still a hot scene and a great debut for Stoya.

Scene 4 – Carmella Bing and Chris Charming

The only problem here is that, once again, you get a clear view of Mick's face. This time it's even more odd because it's a full side shot cut into the scene shortly before the pop. This is a fun final scene, but some of the camera work seemed a little sloppy for how well Robby D. normally does.

Jack's POV 9 is another enjoyable POV release from Robby D. The setups are simple but well done, and there's some nice tease throughout the movie. Stoya was easily the high point of the movie and turns out a very nice Digital Playground debut, but the rest of the girls also do a nice job and there's some very nice variety to the sex. Unfortunately the camera work was quite a bit weaker than I normally expect from Robby D. (to whom I hold a pretty high standard due to how well he's done in the past). It's normally well done, but every scene had the guy's head coming into view and in some scenes it came into view multiple times. This just doesn't seem right for a POV movie, and with the care Robby D. normally puts in with his camera work it also comes off being surprisingly sloppy. Jack's POV 9 is a good POV release, but it's not quite up to the level of the rest of the series.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. Aim a bit low here. The action is very enjoyable, but the camera work is a little weaker than normal. The technical aspects are good, but not quite up to Digital Playground's normal level, while the extras are pretty bare bones. This is a good movie, but the entire DVD is just a step down from Digital Playground's normal level.

Note to Digital Playground: A little effort towards the extras would have been very nice here.
