The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects fall a touch shorter than I normally expect from Digital Playground. The audio is clear and nicely balanced, but there's a bit of Delilah's scene where the audio clearly doesn't synch with the video and which is obviously dubbed. The video is pretty good, and nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. There are a few dark areas, but for the most part the movie is nicely lit and free of grain.

Music: There's a bit of music during the comedy skits as well as Zoe's scene. It has a nice style in each case and fits where it's going very well.

Menus: The main menu nicely moves from a little animation into a still with a bit of background animation for a nice first impression. The chapter menu is very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number only.

The Feature

Jack's Playground sticks with a simple formula. Jack (Robby D.) is hustling girls who want to get into music videos, and wants to know how bad they want to get in. He mixes in a few little skits, and the girls will do anything from give a little show to give it all up.

Scene 1 - Delilah Strong and Chris Charming

When Chris checks the fridge, he's not happy to find that there's only water and health food instead of decent beer. Delilah, looking mighty nice in a pleated jean skirt and a short pink top, shows up at the door hoping they can move Ben's car so she can get to the free clinic. Scene 7 - Zoe Britton

Scene 8 - Taryn Thomas and Chris Charming

Jack's Playground 29 is a fun porno with some good heat. Robby does a nice job keeping things light as “Jack”, and the little comedy skits that are thrown in throughout the movie help it from falling into the same feeling as most of the other vignette style pornos out there. There's some great scenes here, with Julia Ann, Tiffany Holliday, and Taryn Thomas leading the pack, but Chase Dasani's scene was the only one that dropped down to the average level. As for complaints, although I love the sex, the feeling of the movie seems a little more convoluted. Yes, I really liked both Julia Ann and Zoe Britton's scenes, but at the same time without anything to do with Jack in either of the scenes they didn't feel like they belonged in the movie so much. Julia's scene could have been easily brought in with a simple setup like Jack opening his mail and finding the scene on a disc Joone mailed to him, and Zoe's could have been brought in with a simple comment from Jack wondering how the new video's turning out. All that said, I still enjoyed Jack's Playground 29 a lot, and can't deny that it put a tent in my pants and a smile on my face. This is a hot porno with all the fun one expects from Jack.

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. I'd aim a bit lower here. Yes, the sex has some good heat and there's the fun that one expects from “Jack”. At the same time, there's no real effort put into the extras and the technical aspects aren't quite up to the normal level one expects from Digital Playground. This is a hot movie, but with a little more effort in a couple places it could have really shone.

Note to Digital Playground: Although it might not have fit into the movie as well as I would have liked, it's great to see you bringing out some of the extra scenes from the Vault.
