The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with Digital Playground, the technical aspects show some nice effort. The audio is clear and well balanced, although there are a couple very minor background noises that pop in. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks very nice. It's clear and well lit, and although it's obvious that this is a movie that's shot by hand the minor motion never interferes with the movie.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu works through some quick animation before settling in on a still with a clip of the movie and some basic animation for an okay first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene, the name of the performer, and a chapter number that doesn't correspond to the chapter numbers in the movie.

The Feature

Jack is back, and although he isn't getting anything once again it seems like where ever he goes there's girls with bigger butts around. Having those videos with girls with big asses in mind, Jack can't resist getting a look as the girls get busy.

This is a very hot scene that worked extremely well for me and ended up being one of the best in the movie.

Jack tries to get Scott to go fuck the girl he's cheating on his girlfriend with somewhere else, but Scott just won't hear about it and shows up anyway with hot dirty blonde Nikki. Jack fights it until Scott helps Nikki out of her jeans and gets a good look at her ass. This is a good scene, but it could have had a nicer ass focus than it did. It was, however, the only scene to feature Jack in the entire movie.

Jack follows brunette Ariel across a room so she can show off her ass in a pair of short mesh shorts while talking about wanting a big dick for it before showing off both her tits and ass. She heads into a bedroom where Mick is waiting with cock in hand and continues her show before moving in to worship her ass. This is an above average scene. Ariel started things out very well with a killer ass and plenty of talk about wanting to have it fucked, but it seemed to take forever before she actually got it fucked. She also plays things up for the camera a little too much spewing fairly generic and corny porno lines, which hurt the scene a bit more for me. Ariel started this scene showing some very nice potential, but never quite lived up to it for me.

Smoking hot bottle blonde starts the penultimate scene showing off her smile and big tits before turning around to start teasing him with her big ass. This is a hot scene. Phoenix, as usual, looks great and works the tease aspect extremely well. She puts out great vocals as well as nice energy, and really shows off her curves well. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't really any of the Jack character here, and started out thinking that this would have worked much better as a scene for the Jack's POV line than this one. I still had a little of that feeling at the end of the scene, but Ben does a nice job of moving the focus from all of Phoenix to her butt. This is a very nice scene, but it didn't always seem to fit what I expected from a Jack's Big Ass Show scene.

Busty bottle blonde Shyla starts the final scene out in a short denim skirt, a green shirt, and her hair in braids peeking over the wall as Scott drives up so she can find the proper spot to hide from him. She rushes around trying spot after spot before trying to sneak up on him as he sits on the couch only to hear him calling another girl. After they playfully argue about his cell phone and his cheating on her, she demands to smell his dick after seeing there aren't any calls on his phone. Shyla sniffs it before going to work sucking and stroking it and then lets Scott admire and spank her ass after he pulls her onto his lap. This is another scene that left me with slightly conflicting feelings. It's a fun scene with nice chemistry, and I love Shyla's little girl braids as well as how well she takes it in each of the holes. At the same time, the ass worship focus is sorely lacking and if you didn't know what movie was in there's no way you'd connect this scene with the “Jack” series. This is a fun little scene, but it never felt like it completely belonged in this release.

Jack's Big Ass Show 9 is a pretty good fuck flick. There's no doubt as to the quality of asses here with girls like Alexis Texas, Shyla Stylez, and Phoenix Marie, but the overall focus of the film falters just enough so that the movie never quite lives up to its full potential. Some of the scenes, such as Shyla's scene, seem to lose focus of the ass fetish aspect, while most of the scenes seem to lose the “Jack” style and theme. That's not to say that the scenes aren't enjoyable or that they don't focus on ass, as they are and they do, but Nikki Sexx's scene is the only one in which Robby D. actually shows up as Jack. Jack's Big Ass Show 9 should have plenty to please fans of nice round asses, but those looking for the fun that normally drives the Jack movies might end up a little disappointed.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. Aim a bit low here. The movie has plenty of great asses, but the Jack theme falls a bit by the wayside. The technical aspects are nicely done, just as one would expect from Digital Playground, but there's no real effort put into the extras. This is a hot movie on a DVD that feels like it could have used a little more effort all around.

Note to Digital Playground: You had a nice thing going with the Jack theme. I can understand you not wanting to burn it out, but it would be better to release a few new movies with different themes than trying to break away from the Jack formula too much at once.
