The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done, just as one expects with Digital Playground. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I don't think I noticed a single background noise. The video is very nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. It's nicely lit and free of grain with smooth camera motion that shows how hand held camera work can be done right.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu nicely works from a bit of animation into a variation on the boxcover for a good first impression. The chapter menu is a bit generic letting you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number, but also lets you know who the girl is in the first chapter of her scene.

The Feature

Robby D. keeps the vignette feel for his fourth installment in the Big Ass Show series. There's almost always the “Jack feel” to the scenes, but the music video theme rarely rears its head. Throughout the movie, he keeps a focus on ass, and makes sure to try to catch as much of it as possible.

Scene 1 – Gia Paloma and Scott Nails

Gia starts things out laying on a bed with a see through black top and her ass in the air filling out a pair of short pink shorts for Scott and Jack to admire. Scene 2 – Gina Lynn and Ben English

This made him seem like he thought the scene was more about him than Gina and her ass, and that held the scene back a little for me. This is a pretty hot scene, but not quite up to the same level as the opening scene.

Scene 3 – Lorelei Lee and Marco Banderas

She has great chemistry with Marco, and her vocals seem nicely believable. The only thing that really held the scene back for me was Robby's camera work, which lagged a bit for me due to the style. I'm not sure there's three shots in the scene where you get to see both the penetration and Lorelei's reaction to it until the anal started, with much of the scene being extreme close-ups of Lorelei or Marco's face, her tits, or the penetration. Thankfully it picks up nicely with the anal, and with Lorelei taking that quite nicely I really got into this scene. This is a hot scene with Lorelei making the first anal scene in the movie worth waiting for.

Scene 4 – Ariel Alexus and Trent Soluri

Jack shows up at Trent's to find him with a can of whipped cream trying to satisfy his sweet tooth making some dessert at ten in the morning. This is a pretty good scene. I love the tease with Ariel and the time taken to worship her body. She also takes it in each of her holes extremely well and has some very nice chemistry with Trent. Sadly, there's two problems here for me. Once again Robby's camera work seems to be a bit too close for my tastes, but the bigger problem is the positions. Going from pussy eating to blowjob to cowgirl to anal doggie starting out the scene made me feel like I was watching a remake of the last scene just done interracial style. I took a break between this scene and the last scene, and even with plenty of time between watching them my eyes couldn't help but glaze over a bit watching this one. This is a good scene, but having it back to bake with Lorelei's scene with the similarities between them really held it back.

Scene 5 – Katja Kassin and Scott Nails

Best of all, after the last two scenes, there's a bit of variety to the positions to help break this scene apart from the other anal scenes. This is a hot scene, and a nice finish for the movie.

Jack's Big Ass Show 5 is a pretty good ass fetish movie. On the plus side, there's some great asses here and Robby does a nice job showcasing them with the teases and ass worship. I think Gia Paloma came away with the prize for my favorite scene here, while Gina Lynn's scene came up with the boobie prize due to Ben's constant vocals despite a fantastic ass and outfit. Sadly, there's just as much holding it back as it had going for it with some of it just being personal dislikes for me. For the personal dislike, I didn't care for a lot of Robby's camera work here. He stays very tight to the action and didn't allow a lot of the distance shots that I love where you get to see both the penetration and the girl's reaction to being penetrated. I also didn't care for some of how the movie was laid out, as I think it could have been laid out much better. With two vaginal only scenes and three anal scenes, it would have been very nice to alternate between the two. This would have also helped Lorelei and Ariel's scenes to not bring each other down with how similar they felt by putting something a little different between them. Overall, though, Jack's Big Ass Show 5 is a hot porno with a nice focus on ass, but a few minor changes could have really helped it out.

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. Aim low or rent this one first. There's some great asses, but I think the style of the camera work is going to make or break this one for a lot of people. The technical aspects are nicely done, but sadly there's no real effort put into the extras. This is a pretty good movie on a DVD that feels like it needs a little more effort.

Note to Digital Playground: It was nice to see you including behind the scenes featurettes and other extras on your DVDs for a while. I hope they come back soon.
