Initial Expectations: There isn’t a single person I’d even call as low as average in the entire movie. It’s impossible to not have high expectations here.

Initial Reaction: It’s a well done feature that nicely showcases Wicked’s contract girls.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of porn with good acting, hot sex, and romance

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who doesn’t want to worry about things like plot

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is good and normally clear, but the balance seems off just a little in a few places. There’s a couple places where the music gets loud where it seems a little tapped out. The video has a little bit of grain throughout the feature and a bit of inconsistent lighting. There were a few shadows, but they added to the mood of the scenes more than taking away from them.

Music: The music is nicely balanced with the rest of the audio. In a very nice touch, the musical style changes with almost every scene, which helps the scenes from feeling like the same thing each time.

Menus: The main menu is Wicked’s normal high quality menu that has a unique feel and is nicely organized. The chapter menu is excellent! Wicked has really done a great job here. In addition to allowing you to choose a chapter based on just a small slip of the scene, the stars in each scene are also listed with it. It’s the only thing I think Wicked’s menus have been missing, and it’s something that I almost let out a shout of joy at seeing.

Disc Problems: The behind the scenes featurette is cut off after a minute, which appears to be an obvious error since Nikita Denise is cut off in mid-sentence. I penalized the overall DVD and extras a full point lower than I would have with a complete featurette.

The Feature: Joel Lawrence and Serenity play Jack and Jill (respectively), the adult version of Felix and Oscar. Joel thinks he has the perfect woman in Nikita Denise and wants to spend the rest of his life together. Serenity is the typical slut who doesn’t keep the same person in bed for more than a couple hours. When Joel gets dumped by Nikita, Serenity tries to get him back and the wagon and to the person he used to be. The only thing that gets in the way are the feelings they have for each other that neither of them want to completely admit.

Serenity starts things off right away with Ian Daniels in a bed, which seems to be a rare location in today’s porn. Serenity starts out putting her amazing oral skills to work on Ian’s cock before removing her bra to release her heavenly hooters. Ian doesn’t give Serenity’s tits much attention before dropping down to finger Serenity’s pussy and eat it and her ass, causing Serenity to buck around like a cat covered in turpentine. It’s a very hot scene that once again, has great chemistry and heat. It’s also helped out by a nice tag at the end of the scene that really gives the scene a romantic feel.

Serenity brings home Dillion Day for the next night. Not surprisingly, Serenity bucks wildly as Dillion starts to fuck her on the kitchen counter. The chemistry lacks a little, but is still better than in most scenes from other studios.

The four current Wicked girls, Serenity, Devinn Lane, Stephanie Swift, and Sydnee Steele, get together for the first scene with all of them together. They start out talking about relationships, but soon Stephanie and Devinn pair up while Sydnee and Serenity work on each other. Devinn and Serenity trade places, and the dildos come out. The girls switch around nicely, and use most of the popular style toys, such as strap ons, double dongs, vibrators, and anal beads. Both Sydnee and Stephanie take toys in their ass, while Serenity wears the strap on the entire time it’s used. It’s a very hot all girl scene, but some of the girls, especially Devinn, are surprisingly calm and tame.

Joel Lawrence gets busted watching by Sydnee Steele, who comes into his room to take care of him. Since she’s already warmed up by her previous engagements, Joel doesn’t have to worry about warming her up. He lets her give him some great head, as Sydnee usual does, before sheathing his sword and sliding her pussy over it. She starts out in cowgirl, but turns around after a little bit for some reverse cowgirl action. They finish things off with a little doggie fucking while Sydnee fingers her ass until Joel unloads his man batter on her great ass. It’s another very good scene that has a great lead-in that helps provide the scene with some great chemistry to start things with.

Finally, Serenity and Joel team up after an argument that looks like it could tear them apart. Serenity handles Joel’s cock impressively with her mouth before letting Joel eat her pussy as she lays back on the kitchen table. She turns around for Joel to fuck her from behind before he unloads on her ass. It’s a very good scene, and although it doesn’t have quite as much heat as the other scenes, the chemistry is excellent.

As usual with Wicked features, Jack & Jill is a nicely developed movie with hot sex. Joel and Serenity play off each other very well, and provide the entire feature with the chemistry it needs to make it work. The sex is just as good, with every person in the cast doing an above average job. Nikita Denise really holds her own against the Wicked Girls, who turn in a great scene with each other. Joel Lawrence is the only guy to have more than one scene in the feature, and shows why he’s one of the best guys in the jiz biz with his ability to act as well as he can fuck. Jack & Jill is a very nicely done adult film that’s sure to please fans of romantic porn with plot. If you’re a fan of anybody in this feature, take a trip up the hill to check it out.

Extras: Wicked has included most of their standard extras, along with quite a few others to make Jack & Jill worth the extra money. Audio bios are included for Serenity, Stephanie Swift, Devinn Lane, Sydnee Steele, Nikita Denise, Joel Lawrence, and Brad Armstrong. As usual with many of Wicked’s releases, each bio includes some nice personal information, a list of many of the star’s other Wicked features, and a link to the star’s scene. Trailers are included for Working Girl, The Bride of Double Feature, Dream Quest, Flashpoint, Knockout, and Vengeance. There’s also promotional materials, a company profile, the Wicked Web, the Wicked Casino, a list of Wicked’s DVD award winners and nominations, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition.

The photo gallery lasts a little over four minutes with about eight seconds per nice looking photo. The behind the scenes photo gallery lasts slightly over three minutes. For those who enjoy photos, there’s the Serenity photo shoot, which is kind of like a music video style look at Serenity’s photo shoot that lasts about a minute and a quarter. Finally, there’s an Easter Egg photo gallery of the four Wicked girls from their scene together than lasts a whopping four and a half minutes.

All Access: The Making of Jack & Jill lasts about a minute, which doesn’t appear to be on purpose. Brad Armstrong gives a nice little intro to the featurette before Nikita Denise makes a short comment. At that point, the featurette cuts off. It doesn’t look at all like this is intentional, and is a big disappointment with the cast in this feature, especially with how good most of Wicked’s behind the scenes featurettes have been. Although it doesn’t help much, there’s also a short Easter Egg showing the Wicked girls working on their scene together along with the final product.

Two interviews are included, one with Devinn Lane that lasts about two minutes and one with Sydnee Steele that lasts about three and a half minutes. Devinn talks about her role in the movie, working with women, choosing her name, and Howard Stern. It’s a nice interview, but seems very short and cut off. I’m hoping that this was an intentional end to the interview, but after the featurette fiasco I’m not quite sure. Sydnee talks about the doing girls, not spoiling herself, the control she has in her scenes, and keeping her amazing body. Both girls come across as very real people, and show why Wicked is known for having some of the most personable and nicest contract girls.

Finally, Serenity teams with Joel Lawrence for an audio commentary. They have quite a bit of fun chatting back and forth about the movie, but do have quite a few serious talks also. Joel takes his acting very serious, and they both take a little time to talk about it. Serenity talks some about her scenes including how she has three scenes in each of her movies and her sexual tastes. They also talk about what happened on the sets, the locations, and the cast. It’s a nice commentary that has a slightly different feel that the normal director / talent commentaries that Wicked normally uses.

Overall: Currently, Jack & Jill can be found online for between $22 (on sale) and $29 with most stores offering it near the upper end. Although it’s a very well done movie, I have a hard time recommending it for much above the lower end since the behind the scenes featurette is almost non-existent. It’s too bad, because the movie is well done with both the sex and non-sex portions, and the transfer and remaining extras are quite good. One can only hope that Wicked will be as good as some of their competition, who replaced defective DVDs for their customers at almost no charge.

Note to Wicked: Thank you for including the cast listings with the chapter menu! As thrilled as I was with this, however, my spirits were quickly dampened by the problem with the behind the scenes. This is very unlike you and hopefully a rare, if not isolated, occurrence.

Review Update 22Jan02: Within a couple working hours I had received an e-mail from Wicked about the problem and they appear to be redoing the DVD. An e-mail was sent out to reviewers to please hold off from reviewing this DVD as they’re hoping to ship corrected DVDs soon. Although I don’t know how this will affect those who already purchased the DVD, Wicked’s response on this is amazing. It shows some of why I think they’re one of the best companies out there. As soon as I see a corrected copy, I will be changing the ratings on this DVD to suit it.
