Island Fever 3 (Digital Playground) Review

This was my first Digital Playground DVD, and from what I had heard about them, I got exactly what I expected. This is one of their newest titles, and is basically being hailed as a work of art. Well, here's what I thought. Please keep in mind, this is a review of the movie only, not the complete DVD package:

Video: The selling point of the DVD, and for a very good reason. With the exception of the Tera Patrick scene, the film looks amazing. Obviously, seeing it in High Definition gives us a good idea of what to expect from porn in the future. Crisp and clear, it's a visual treat. Too bad what your seeing doesn't live up to the excellent medium your seeing it on.

Audio: It doesn't take from the movie, but of course, since it's simply background music, doesn't exactly add to it either. Let's just say it fits, and it's fine. No audio from anyone, but that's the type of movie it is. If hearing what's going on floats your boat, look elsewhere.

Sex: Hardcore fanatics, begone! I'm saving you money here, go put it away for a RLD title or something. Lots of teasing, dancing, visual sensuality, etc. but with the exception of the money shots and a couple of quick glances, nothing seriously explicit at all. This might be a good title to watch with a lady, if the cumshots weren't as hard as they are. There are times when the HD camera is not doing these ladies a favour either. In some scenes Devon looks great, in others she looks like she's 40. Jesse Jane's face has never looked better, but her fake boobs (along with Devon's) are quite apparent and completely out of place in this natural setting. The condoms are a really bad idea also. I mean, talk about plastic in paradise! There are a couple of great moments though. Jesse and Devons' scene at the beginning is a good example, and you can definitely see the potential for HD in some of the harder scenes, as sparse as they are.

Overall: If you like softcore or mild porn, this will excite you. Devon and Jesse are more than enough to look at (which you will be doing a LOT), and Tera's always a pleasure, even though the scene in all respects was lacking. Digital Playground really needs a bigger crop of performers. Another starlet could easily have taken Tera's place and provided a lot more to this movie. But like I said, I got exactly what I asked for, and if you watch the trailer for the movie on DP's website, you'll see exactly what you'll get.
