So you meet the guy or girl of your dreams, and for awhile it's fantastic. Then time goes by and you know every zit and hairy mole on her body. You know all her tricks. You know all the buttons to push. One day you realize you're bored, and you ask her, "why don't you put this on?" She's still the woman of your dreams, the sun you orbit, your polar north and you don't want to start out new, you just want to freshen things up a bit.

I think this goes through Abby Winters' creative head. You're successful and you want to give people what they want, but you know they need some variety or they'll get tired of it. Worse, they won't buy the 18th installment of your solo-masturbation collection, because they're going to ask (and rightly so): why should I get this when I have seventeen other DVDs of yours? Plus various other solo-masturbation videos from other companies? Because even though I ask myself, how many times can I watch Chloe B. diddle herself, and I answer, how many drops of water are in a glass of water? But the truth, there is a limit. I want variety.

So Abby tries to walk a slender line between giving 'em what they want and expect, but make it fresh and interesting and not quite the same-old-same-old. And that explains Intimate Temptations, the 18th collection of solo (mostly) masturbation videos.

Eleven girls in nine scenes; six are solos, three are two-girl pairings (Lou-Ellyn appears in one of each). So it's not just solo, really. And even then, there's a nice mix: Kiki and Lou-Ellyn are full-contact masturbators, while Carla and Katia keep their hands to themselves. And in the most interesting variation (and my favorite on the disc) there's Ren and Shaminee mutually masturbating during a round of phone-sex, present in split-screen so you can see and hear them both simultaneously.

The solos also got a mild makeover. Besides the nice mix of fresh faces (Lou-Ellyn) and old friends (Chloe B.), some scenes now have two cameras (both unmanned) so the scene may cut back and forth between them, which adds a bit of visual interest. Two girls use vibrators, the others use fingers only.

There's also a treat in that they included what would normally be an outtake--in this case it's Chloe B. going ass-over-teakettle during an orgasm as she leans a bit too far over the back of her easy-chair. Abby was kind enough to use this little bit in the animated menu as well.

Special Features: None, but you get 2-hours of quality stuff so it's not like it's lacking; they could have easily taken one or two of the scenes and called them "bonuses" and you'd have the same thing.

Production values: Shot and mastered in high-def and it looks it. A couple of the scenes look a bit funky on my computer (the color in Blaire's scene in particular doesn't look quite right), but overall it's up to Abby's high standards. There's no wonky camerawork, the sound is excellent, the girls are good looking, and overall it's a quality presentation.

Final verdict: I love it. For me it's got a wonderful mix of models types, looks, styles and situations that make this continuously fun for me. It looks like the people who made it wanted something they'd watch themselves, not just checklist porn to fill the shelves. If you want to try one Abby Winters masturbation DVD, this is the one I recommend the most.
