Intern, The (Lucas Entertainment) Review

Writer/Director Tony Dimarco has produced a winner for Lucas Entertainment with THE INTERN. The plot, suggested by the TV show “Ugly Betty”, concerns a nerdy young guy—brilliantly played by Ben Andrews—who applies to a porn studio as a gofer.
At first Ben is herded into a cattle call with prospective performers. Had he done as ordered and dropped his trousers with the others there would have been no film. But Ben has no aspirations to go before the camera. The irony of it all is that the fictitious Trojan Studios desperately needs a big dick in their stable and Alexander Mann the head of the studio has ordered his assistant to find him a big dick.
Alexander is ably played by Michael Lucas. Once again Lucas reveals that he is a consummate actor. It would be so easy to overplay the narcissistic imperious tyrant, but Lucas has solid line readings and many subtle nuances that make the character totally believable. What is new is that Lucas now reveals a considerable flair for comedy and unhesitatingly mocks the false image many have of the man himself.
Indeed it is the acting itself that does much to make the film succeed. Ben Andrews is delightful as the nerdy intern. Christian Cruz holds his own in the scenes with Lucas and elsewhere and quickly makes the viewer love him. (He is also one hell of a sexual fireball.) And then there is the flaming receptionist well portrayed by Joe Shepard who plays the type of homosexual that gives the rest of us a bad name. He is very funny.
There is much humor in the script and direction as well: Alexander receiving botox injections, the poor old guy playing a fluffer who never gets to fluff (unfortunately there is no such job), condom boxes labeled “regular”, X-tra large”, and “You’ve Got To Be Kidding” are just a few of these.
But of course a porn film stands or falls (like the viewer’s dicks) on the sex. That—I am happy to report—is first-rate.

It is during the sex scene between Jason Ridge and Jonathan Vargas (a scene being filmed by the fictitious studio) that Christian first notices a suspicious bulge in the new intern’s pants. And no wonder, because the two performers really seem into one another. After sucking each other’s dick, Jason and Jonathan sixty-nine. Jason then inserts one end of a double-headed dildo up his co-star’s butt. Soon they are sharing it, banging their butts together. Vargas then gives Ridge the real thing. They roll over from the doggy-fuck to continue in the missionary position before Jason sits down on Jonathan’s cock for a bounding ride. I like it when tops and bottoms alternate in a scene and that happens here. Jason starts fucking Jonathan doggy style and then missionary where he fucks the cum right out of the cute lad adding his own load to Jonathan’s sticky belly almost simultaneously.

The next sex occurs between two “straights” that work in the warehouse. After much talk of insuring one another that they are straight they drop a case of liquid Spanish fly (another non-thing like fluffer). They are played by adorable Zack Randall and a “rough trade” performer known only as Jimmy (who may indeed be straight). Zack feasts furiously on Jimmy’s prick.

“Holy shit! Holy Shit!” Jimmy whimpers over and over.

The scene and its accompanying sex scene that follows have nothing to do with the plot and is ironically also the weakest sex scene. It features Michael Lucas and deliveryman Matt Cole. Matt looks butch but when he opens his mouth he’s surprisingly swish. The pretext here is that he’s auditioning for Alexander. As a further irony there is a scintillating sex scene with Christian and a night watchman played by Ray Star that was cut and delegated to the bonus section in the second disc of the director’s cut. That scene should have been in the main film and the Lucas-Cole scene should have been retired to the extras. Certainly Lucas deserves a sex scene, but the one we are given is not it.

It is now that Ben dreams of getting revenge on the bossy Alexander by smashing a pie in his face. (Who says Lucas isn’t a good sport?)

In order to find out just what the nerdy intern has in his pants Christian accidentally-on-purpose spills some coffee in his lap then ushers him in the bathroom to supposedly take care of the stain. Ben’s huge uncut cock is just what he’s been looking for.
“Don’t worry,” he tells the massively hung intern before going down on the huge cock “I’ve done this before.”

There is a second disc with the director’s cut. It contains some Bonus Footage, Model Bios, the Production Blog, and Production Photos.
The Bonus Footage contains a watersport scene with Lucas and a willing Zack Randall. A naked Zack is seated on a toilet in a nice bathroom. Lucas enters and pisses on him and in his mouth. Lucas even hits his own mouth with some of the piss and transfers it to Zack’s mouth. They suck each other and cum. Lucas washes the cum off Zack with more piss.
