The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Christoph is one of my favorite directors, so when I was excited to find him directing this one when I was going through my Pile O Porn. Okay, it’s more like a Mountain O Porn, but that doesn’t flow off the tongue nearly as well.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced for both the original audio and the dubbed languages. The video is very nicely done as well. There’s just a hint of grain and it’s all very nicely lit. For the age of the production, this is a very nice looking and sounding release.

Music: The music varies a little, but mostly has a faster beat. It sometimes works for the scenes and sometimes feels a little off. The balance varies from language to language, and is sometimes just a little loud.

Menus: The main menu is okay with a nice little bit of animation and a still. The chapter menu leaves more than a little to be desired, and lets you choose a scene based on a chapter number and a photo from each scene.

The Feature

Scene 1 - Vicca and a guy

The Inheritance is a nice little adult story. It keeps the premise fairly loose, but also works pretty well for setting up the sex scenes. At just under an hour and a half and with ten sex scenes, there isn’t a lot of time to set up the plot, and the little bit of narration works very nicely to keep things moving as well as making it so The Inheritance doesn’t have more holes than a piece of mouse-ravaged Swiss cheese. The sex works surprisingly well also, and does a very good job of bringing in plenty of anal and a few double penetrations. The scenes vary in length from just a few short minutes to over ten minutes, and it helps the scenes to stand on their own while also feeling like something bigger. Laure is easily the star here, but Vicca also does a great job, and they’re nicely partnered with some strong male talent in Andrew Youngman and Christoph Clark. At the same time, the strengths of the movie are also its weaknesses. The scenes aren’t the most consistent, and often seem too short. The same can be said for the plot. It works, but at just under an hour and a half it feels like it could have easily been expanded a little. The Inheritance is far from a perfect adult movie, but it is a nice diversion that brings in some nastier sex.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Wicked’s DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $30 with many stores offering them for around $21. This one’s borderline at the bottom end, mostly because I think the shorter scenes might turn off quite a few people. The movie is pretty well done and has some nice sex, and there’s some nice attention given to the technical aspects. There isn’t much for extras, but as an older DVD that isn’t too much of a surprise. For an older DVD, this one’s nicely done.

Note to Wicked / VMD: I know this is an older release, and it’s nice to see that you were giving the technical aspects such care even back when this was released.
