Initial Expectations: I haven’t heard a single thing about this company, so I’m curious going in.

Initial Reaction: The sex is hot, but the DVD leaves much to be desired technically.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting a well done interactive DVD

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very nice. It’s clear and well balanced, but there are a couple background noises that intrude on the scenes. The video is also well done, although there are quite a few shadows throughout the feature. There’s also some very slight grain, but the picture normally looks very good. The setup for The Gathering on the DVD, however, uses some filters with the video, which seems completely out of place and makes it look very blurry. The audio is also a bit off balance for much of The Gathering.

Music: The In & Out Club provides the music for Inescapable Desires, which is a pretty typical dance beat porno music style. In a nice touch, the soundtrack is also included on the first DVD.

Menus: Basically, there are none. Any time you have a menu, it’s to choose where you want to go with the feature.

The Feature: Unlike most interactive DVDs, Inescapable Desires tries to give itself a background story. Basically the story is the sex toys used in the movies are so powerful no mere mortal woman can use them.

The first DVD contains the Saint & Sinner choice. In it, Charlie masturbates with the help of a couple toys. You have the choice between four choices, First Course, Glass Menagerie, Deep Exploration, and Double Stuffed. Each of the choices are fairly self explanatory, dealing with light masturbation, a glass toy, anal masturbation, and a double penetration masturbation. Each sequence lasts between two and two and three quarter minutes, and when they finish, you’re taken back to the menu you just left.

This section is a complete disappointment, despite Charlie doing a pretty darn good job. The three angles are often a little off at some point in the scene, and feel like they’re just left on a tripod to focus on one specific area rather than actually having a human being behind them to move them where they should go. Also, the footage between “Saint” and “Sinner” doesn’t feel any different, and in some cases I think the same footage was actually used! Finally, having to go back to the menu every two minutes is annoying as hell, as it’s the only way for the scene to continue! You’re not given the choice to switch between moods, let alone have the scene run through complete under “Saint” or “Sinner”!

Lost By Amazement is the second choice, and is split over the two DVDs. In it, Charlie teams up with Ann Marie. For eight and a half minutes on the first DVD, Charlie and Ann Marie work each other over with their tongue and fingers. As is often done with lesbian scenes, they finish things off with a kiss.

This half left me hot and cold. Once again, the action itself was darn hot! Ann Marie and Charlie do a great job working each other over, and look to really be into each other. On the down side, I wouldn’t call this an interactive scene as the only difference between it and Adam & Eve’s DVDs with the Hot Shot option is that Adam & Eve’s Hot Shot icon isn’t nearly as intrusive as the Cr (Climax Release) icon in this scene. If that’s not enough, there’s only one climax so when you use it when Charlie’s going down on Ann Marie, you get to jump to Charlie’s climax. The multiple angles are also kind of a joke, as all three angles are edited together throughout the scene. I tried flipping through them and finally thought the third angle was the best. This wasn’t too hard of a decision to make as early in the scene, the first two angles were only good if you wanted to see the back of Charlie’s head.

When you move to the second DVD, you learn that Lost by Amazement has been renamed Penetration with Potential, which makes me wonder if the people at Full Blown DVD might suffer from ADD. It starts off right away with Ann Marie working on Charlie’s pussy with the glass toy while massaging her pucker with her finger. Ann Marie also gives Charlie a rimming while fucking her pussy, before trading places so that Charlie can return the favor. Finally, the girls share a double dildo.

Needless to say, this eleven minutes is a continuation of the scene on the first disc, and everything continues along as it should. The energy level of the ladies is excellent, and their chemistry is amazing. Once again, all the problems with this scene are to blame on the people at Full Blown Pictures.

Finally, there’s The Gathering, which lets Charlie and Ann Marie work with Amythiest Stone and Michelle Michaels. It starts with a little setup of the girls getting together with some toys and champagne, which Ann Marie spills on Charlie. Charlie has her lick it up, which causes the scene to really get going. From there, you have three choices, Munch a Bunch, Toys for Twats, and Rump Pump. In the eight minute Munch a Bunch, the girls take turns having one girl in the middle while the other three work on her with tongues, toys, and fingers. The six and a half minute Toys for Twats adds strap-ons to the mix, with Charlie fucking Ann Marie while Amythiest fucks Michelle. Finally, the five minute Rump Pump features Charlie and Amythiest each getting DPed by Ann Marie and Michelle respectively. Ann Marie and Michelle trade places, and finally the girls finish things with a kiss.

The Gathering reminded me of the first two scenes right away. Once again, it feels like a scene that’s chopped up in order to make a foolish claim of interactivity. Also once again, there’s some very nice heat and energy throughout the entire scene. Ann Marie really shines here, and Amythiest Stone follows her up nicely. The editing is rough, but this would have been much better if it would have been left one scene rather than being broken into three pieces.

Inescapable Desires is one heck of a sad DVD. It has a heck of a lot of potential, but by somebody not knowing their limits, what should be a winner of a DVD comes off as an amazing feat of incompetence. The sex here is great, with Charlie leading an impressive cast that leaves no doubt in your mind as to whether or not they enjoy what they do. Heck, Charlie’s scene with Ann Marie is good enough that some guys might have to drink an entire gallon of water or go to the emergency room for dehydration!

Sadly, Inescapable Desires shows that hot sex isn’t all it takes to make a great porno. By trying to make this an interactive DVD, the people at Full Blown Pictures raised the bar quite a bit for themselves. When the term “Interactive DVD” is mentioned, everybody’s mind goes to series such as Digital Sin’s My Plaything and Digital Playground’s Virtual Sex with. Inescapable Desires is a donkey cart with square wheels compared to the Ferrari of those two series. You can’t change anything in the first scene without going back to menu, nor can you let the scene play out itself. To me, that’s not interactivity. That’s speedbumps! The other scenes have a “CR - Climax Release” option which is just as bad. It’s nothing more than a quick link to the orgasm at the end of the scene. No matter which performer is giving and which is receiving, you’re going to go to the same place when selecting this. This should not have been called an interactive DVD.

Sadly, if Inescapable Desires had been released as a standard DVD-9, it would have been one heck of a great DVD. I say it should be a DVD-9 because that way you could fit all of the action on one DVD rather than splitting up scenes. There is some darn hot sex here, and Charlie and the girls should be proud of the job they did. It’s just that the makes of this DVD seem to be so caught up in putting out a “Double Disc Collector’s Edition” “Interactive DVD”, that they forgot to check and see how it would end up.

Extras: The photo gallery includes about twenty very nice looking snapshots. There’s also a trailer for the movie and a behind the scenes featurette which lasts a little over two and a half minutes. The behind the scenes featurette gives you just that, and includes a bit of the girls screwing around between takes, getting ready for their scenes, and the shooting of the scenes. It’s much shorter than I would have liked, but still worth checking out.

Overall: Currently, Inescapable Desires can be found online for between $13 and $28 with a couple stores offering it near the low end. If you’re looking for an interactive DVD, pass this one by. If you’re looking for some hot but chopped up sex, this one will be worth it at the low end. The transfer is normally very good, but there are a few bumps along the road. There’s also a couple decent extras.

Note to Full Blown Pictures: In the future, stick with what you know and can do. If you would have done this as a standard porno, you would have had a winner here. Instead, it ended up making you look incompetent and pretty much ruining a winning DVD.
