Synopsis:
A serial killer known as the Brazilian Snake is on the loose killing green-eyed girls in Rio de Janeiro. The local police are trying to find out the killer's real identity before he can strike again. Includes the films Brazilian Snake and Brazilian Snake 2.

Video/Audio:
Both Brazilian Snake 1 and 2 are presented in the full screen aspect ratio, 1.33:1, which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the films. On both prints the picture is nearly flawless with no artifacts or blemishes present. The color levels are set correctly. In Brazilian Snake 1, there appears to be minor haloing around some objects, but not enough to bother your viewing experience. This problem doesn't appear to be present in Brazilian Snake 2.

The available audio track on both films is a dubbed English 2.0 Stereo track, which is more than adequate for the material being presented. The dialog is clear and easy to hear throughout both films. The dubbing used is a true dubbed track where the original language track has been completely removed and replaced with the dubbed voices. On average, the voice talents are decent with only a few beings below average. No other language tracks and no subtitle options are available.

Chapters/Time Code:
Both discs use the same navigational system, each disc has chapters which are identified by a name for the scene and a video clip from the scene, seven chapters on disc one and six chapters on disc two. Each chapter is then broken down into five to six sub chapters which are identified by a video clip from the scene portion and plot or the sex act performed. This style navigational system is great for finding any portion of the film you are looking for quickly and easily. Both discs have a time code, so time searching is available.

Special Features:
Both discs combined have very little to offer the viewer for extras. There are Slide Shows on both discs which offer the viewer 20 stills from the film on a track. There is an Interview with Pierre Woodman, which is repeated on both discs, which doesn't focus on the Brazilian Snake series but on Pierre's other films for Hustler and Pierre himself. There are several Previews that are located on both discs and both discs have an advert for Hustler's internet presence.

Review:
The first thing I would like to talk about is the advertisements that the viewer is forced to watch at the beginning of both of the discs. Before either disc gets to the main menu, there are two adverts for which all navigational tools have been disabled, so the viewer is forced to watch them before they get to the movie. Even worse, the adverts are the same on both discs. This practice gets a 10 on the irritation meter and hopefully will be dismissed soon by Hustler Video.

The story throughout the series is decent. It goes strong through the first film, holding the viewer's interest and ends abruptly at the end of the first film to be continued in the second. At the beginning of the second film, the story wanes for a while, but picks back up before the end to include a twist ending, or as much a twist ending as possible in the adult industry. There is probably enough of a plot to the film that viewers who dislike the inclusion of one will find too much to fast forward over.

The cast looks great and viewers should find very little to complain about here. The cast also does a great job interacting with each other. The sex is well done as well. The sex here is probably nastier than what most couples are looking for, but probably not hard enough to satisfy the fans of really nasty sex. Something that I liked about this series, is that the sex scenes fit the situation better than they usually end up doing. The sexual themes in the films are oral vaginal and anal sex with DP, lesbianism, fingering, rimming (female to female), anal fingering and female masturbation. For viewers who care about such things, condoms are used in some of the scenes but not others.

Some of the special effects in the film end up looking fake which detracts slightly from the film and astute viewers will notice some serious set errors, but none of this will ruin the viewing experience. The make up jobs done in the film are well done however, which does add to the film.

The filming in the movies is well done and there are some beautiful areas of Rio that are used in the films. The locations, along with the music, add to the films giving them a good tropical feel. One area the films are lacking in is set design. Most of the interior sets are very under dressed giving them a hastily put together look.

The two discs included in this box set are identical to the previously released single releases of both films except for writing on the jackets stating that they are the box set edition and a nice cardboard holder that store the two disc boxes together. This makes for a nice package for those who haven't purchased either film and want the series but offers nothing new for those who have already bought the individual film releases.

The Money Shot:
This series is well done plot-based adult entertainment that should please fans of harder sex. Viewers who dislike porn with a plot, require really nasty sex, couples and viewers who hate dubbing should pass on this series. If you like to follow the plot or are a fan of the series, this is the way to buy the Brazilian Snake set. Brazilian Snake and Brazilian Snake 2 are also sold separately.
