The Short Story

Initial Expectations: OSK has made some well done instructional releases, so I went into this set with a bit of hope.

Initial Reaction: It's a pretty good box set.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody interested in spicing things up a little sexually.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting highly clinical instructional releases.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As with any collection of different releases or compilation, the technical aspects vary a bit from scene to scene or movie to movie. Since these are all filmed at roughly the same time, the technical aspects are pretty consistent from release to release and are normally pretty average. The audio is a little muffled and low, but was free of background noises and has a nice balance. Some of the audio does get very low and make it hard to understand, but not much. The video is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen. It has a little grain and is a little on the low side, but has very little camera motion.

Music: There's a little music here and there, but not much. When there is music it has a very soft feel, but the balance varies from release to release.

Menus: The main menu is very simple, and just gives a still of the boxcover with the choices. The chapter menu is also very simple, and lets you choose a segment based on the girl in it, a still for the segment and a title, or just a text choice depending on the release. .

The Feature

How to Perform Volume 2 collects four releases from the Educational Sex Series, namely Hot to Perform Anal Sex, How to Perform a Prostate Massage, How to Perform a Footjob, and How to Get & Use Tongue Piercings. As I have covered all of these titles previously, here I'll just give some general comments on this release, as well as a little on the series in general.

OSK's Education Sex Series sets itself apart from most of the other instructional releases out there by not just using porn stars, both recognizable and new, but by taking a more hardcore approach to the subjects it covers. This leaves the movies having more of a layman's approach, which makes the movies a bit more approachable and a lot less dry than some other instructional releases. The girls nicely talk their way through what they're doing, and do a very nice job bringing in some of their personal experiences with the subjects. This gives the releases a nicely sex-positive feeling, and with the enthusiasm the girls often show for the subjects I think they can help to install a bit more confidence in how enjoyable the different sex acts can be than having somebody in a suit clinically talking about it. Another thing which sets it apart from other instructional series is that it isn't afraid to tackle more fetish related subjects, such as footjobs and tongue piercings. Some of these things seemed a bit self explanatory to me, but for those who are looking for a bit of confidence or a little more information relating to the subjects, these releases can be nicely helpful. If you're interested in spicing things up a bit, you could get some nice help with this release.

As with almost all releases, there's also a bit of a downside to some of this collection. The biggest downside here is Roxetta, who pretty much turns Hot to Perform Anal Sex into a joke and who made it an anal sex instructional release that I can't recommend to anybody wanting serious instruction and only to somebody looking for a good laugh. Thankfully that level of ineptitude in front of the camera only exists with her, as the rest of the cast does a nice job. There's a bit of information that gets repeated in each movie, but I don't think it's as bad here as in some of OSK's earlier releases and it's also not always a bad thing because it lets the movies reinforce things that can use a little reinforcement. The other common problem is the camera work, which has a tendency to get too close and which also doesn't seem to focus on some of the details as long as it want to. Except for Roxetta, these are fairly minor complaints and not anything which should keep anybody away from checking out these releases. For that matter, even Roxetta is amusing enough in a very sad way to have some entertainment value.

How to Perform Volume 2 is a good collection of instructional releases focusing on ways to spice things up a bit. The subjects are a bit kinkier, but with the range of fetishes here they go together very nicely. The subjects are presented in a fairly laid back format that should make them easy for people to enjoy and relate to while also providing some good information in a format that isn't overly simple or overly clinical. There are times the camera work lacks a little or the information gets slightly repetitive, but thankfully neither interferes enough to hold back the overall releases. If you're wanting to spice things up a bit in the bedroom, this could be a very good release to pick up.

The Bottom Line:

I was lucky enough to be given this set at Erotica LA to check out, but I don't see it available for purchase online anywhere. If you do see it and it interests you, I'd recommend picking it up as the material is nicely presented and the technical aspects are normally above average. There isn't much for extras, but that's not unusual with instructional releases. This is a pretty good box set.
