Initial Expectations: Although I like watching older women get it on, Homegrown has never done much for me. I can't get my expectations too high here.

Initial Reaction: The ladies are darn good, but sadly most of the guys and the technical aspects reign the scenes back in.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with Homegrown Video, the technical aspects can't make it to the average mark. The audio is pretty good through most of the scenes, but there are some very noticeable background noises with the third scene being downright horrible with the background hissing. The video is presented in the full frame format and also leaves plenty to be desired. Some of the scenes are pretty clear, but camera motion is far from uncommon and there's a lot of pixelation in the first scene.

Music: None

False Advertising: The back cover claims there are �five delectable darlings� in the movie, but there are only four. This does look like a fairly honest mistake since it also lists only four scenes, but due to Homegrown almost always having a sloppy rather than an amateur feel to it, I'm deducting another half point from the overall score.

Disc Complaints: The authoring is a bit funky, which doesn't seem to be anything too unusual with Homegrown. Rather than having the entire movie on a title that makes it easy for viewers to skip to where ever they choose in the movie (which is extremely nice if you get tired of a scene and just want to jump ahead randomly or if you're viewing the movie later and want to go to a specific point in the movie) each scene has its own title, similar to how some studios run their TV shows on DVD. This style of authoring has thankfully gone the way of the dodo with most studios, but Homegrown and Naughty America seem to be sticking with it. Both studios are distributed by Pure Play and also both don't seem to be willing to put any real effort into their extras (yes, Homegrown DVDs do have extras, but they also appear to be the same on all of their DVDs). Seeing that lack of care in the same areas for two studios being distributed by the same company I can't help but think that the problem and lack of care lies with Pure Play Media more than anything. With that little care coming from their releases maybe the customer should just be glad that they get a time stamp throughout the movie.

Menus: There's only one menu, and it blends a simple background with text choices for extras and clips from each scene to let you jump to specific chapters. If you choose a scene, you're oddly taken shortly past the start of each scene rather than beginning at the start of the scene.

The Feature

It's well known that women reach their sexual prime a few years after men, and a lot of sex often doesn't go away at a certain age. Here, Homegrown brings together four ladies over forty who still love the cock.

Scene 1 - Arowyn and Aaron Wilcox

Arowyn, a decent looking dirty blonde, starts out in a little black dress chatting online and inviting a younger man to come see her. This is a decent scene, but it doesn't make it beyond that.

Scene 2 - Anne and Lincoln

Anne, a cute dirty blonde with a nose stud, starts out in a grey and black striped tube top with a white skirt spinning around in a chair and talking about being a very sexual person while showing off some great smiles and plenty of personality. She pulls down her top to show a nice rack and pulls up her skirt to show a great ass before sitting back in a chair and pulling her panties to the side to show off her pussy. I couldn't even get down on the cum dodging with how enjoyable it ended up being. This is an extremely enjoyable oral scene and one of the best scenes I've ever seen from Homegrown Video.

Scene 3 - Corine and Pierre

Corine, a larger short haired brunette, starts out in black lingerie and stockings letting Pierre pull down her top so he can kiss her on the tits and mouth. Sadly, that doesn't help this scene much as neither Corine or Pierre are that attractive and the editing is very choppy. This scene hovers around the average mark.

Scene 4 - Sabrina and Cliff

Sabrina, a cute brunette, is quite happy as she comes home to tell Cliff, an oversized older white guy, about her first nude shoot. She lets him know that they talked her into doing a girl � girl scene, and he's very disappointed that he missed it and wants plenty of details. He's just as happy when he hears that the girl's boyfriend joined in and that she has their number, and can't keep his hands off her as she tells him about it. This could have been a great scene with a halfway decent guy, but instead it hovers around the average mark again.

Horny Over 40 41 is a surprisingly enjoyable release. Of course, since Homegrown has never really impressed me much and often felt more sloppy than amateur, even an average release ends up being surprisingly enjoyable. The ladies here are all nicely into sex and every one of them looks pretty good. Anne easily had the best scene of the movie due to her spirit as well as her good looks, while Sabrina also turned out a nice scene. Corine's scene didn't do a lot for me, but unlike roughly 95% of what I've seen from Homegrown it actually felt like it was a real amateur scene. Horny Over 40 41 also mixes up the sex nicely, both with sex acts, scenes with setups and ones that get right to the action, and styles of women. Aaron's the only guy who really helps out in his scene, although Lincoln also isn't too bad. Horny Over 40 41 is a solidly average release, which is pretty darn good for Homegrown Video.

The Extra Stuff

The extras here appear to be the same extras that are on all other Homegrown DVDs. Roughly eighteen minutes of trailers are included for several other homegrown releases, and often feature fairly well known porn stars. Sadly, the title of each scene is put right across the middle of the screen through every trailer and after every movie you get a commercial for how to order them and Homegrown's other websites. The trailers are also all included on one chapter rather than each trailer having their own chapter so the viewer can easily skip trailers that doesn't interest them. There's also weblinks, a blooper reel, and a so-called bonus scene.

A so-called bonus scene is included from Homegrown 648 and features brunette Claudine who looks very familiar. I always like to see bonus scenes as it gives me a good feeling for how the rest of the movie or series might be. Sadly, this one did nothing for me. Rather than being a full scene, instead it looks to be a fifteen or twenty minute scene (guessing from the lengths of the scenes on this release) that's been hacked down to under five minutes. This isn't a bonus scene, this is a trailer focused on one scene and it brought down the extras for me since it seemed like there would have easily been room on the DVD for the full scene.

The blooper reel lasts about twelve and a half minutes. Unlike most blooper reels which actually contain bloopers from the movie on the DVD, this is a completely generic blooper reel that spans the entire range of Homegrown's releases. It spans so many movies that it's even organized into areas such as bodily functions. There's a few chuckles here, but it's not nearly as good as it might have been if it featured clips from this movie.

Currently, many Homegrown DVDs can be found online for between about $13 and $25 with a few stores offering them near the low end. At the low end this one might be a consideration. The ladies are nicely into sex and always do a nice job even though the guys don't bring much to the party. The technical aspects are inconsistent, and there's no real effort put into the extras since they're the same ones you seem to find on every Homegrown release. This is an okay movie on a DVD that could use a bit more care.

Note to Homegrown: A little effort towards you extras would be very nice, and not too hard. If you would have cut the shower and cleanup scenes from the movie it would have easily made room for another scene in the movie and would have made for some great behind the scenes footage so that your extras would actually be worth paying attention to.
