Homegrown Video 748: Pubic Thunder Review

The DVD starts off with ads, ads for phone sex, submissions of your own porn to homegrownvideo.com, website ad, mobile phone porn ad, and a web chat ad before getting to the main menu. Not the best way to start off the feature. These really should be in the bonus section, not hoisted on us.

Scene one stars Fiona and Bobby. Bobby is out walking his dog, when an attractive woman comes up and starts cooing over the dog. He invites her up to his place so she can give the dog a treat. They get "hot", start removing clothing and move into some fingering, oral sex, 69 and the cowgirl. The money shot is him masturbating onto her face. While the scene has good energy, it takes place indoors, in private, not public.

Scene two is Nadia and Princess and starts out with an interview. Funny, wasn't expecting amateurs to have an interview. I'm starting to thing this isn't totally amateur. Anyhow, they get into some girl on girl action which is pretty slow and lacking any sort of enthusiasm or excitement. Takes place indoors on a couch. Really questioning the title of "Public Thunder" so far.

Kim and Jim star in scene three, the classic "study group" where they decide to take a break. Their break involves a lot of messing around, and plenty of different positions. They have a pretty good chemistry together and make for a good scene. However, it too is indoors, on a couch.

Last up is Alexis, who doesn't seem amateur. She does a solo masturbation scene in a private bathroom. This scene is very slow and almost boring. She says that is to her fans, which leads me to believe she isn't an amateur.

The audio is fine, I had no issues with it. You can tell the video does come from different sources. The first scene had a lot of shadows that obscured the action and the second scene was very grainy. There was also some shakiness and wild movements of the camera in the various scenes, which are to be expected from true amateur footage.

Bonus features consist of website info, previews of other series from Homegrown Video, Coming Soon (previews of the next video in this series) and a blooper reel. The bloopers are from many different scenes and movies, which I found quite entertaining to watch. It had farting, queifing, bumping the camera, phones ringing, camermen tripping, dogs barking, burns from the camera lights, balance issues, forgotten lines, chainsaws, being too abusive, poetic dirty talk and slipping in oil on the floor.

I must say I was underwhelmed by this feature. It wasn't public despite the title, I suspect some of the scenes aren't amateurs, and two of the four scenes didn't have much of a spark to them. Other than the entertaining blooper reel, I find little here to recommend.
