Homegrown Video 735: Gulp Fiction Review

Running Time: 83 min. (cover states 90 min., and as with every other Homegrown release I think I've seen doesn't make it to the advertised running time. As usual, this means I'm deducting a half point from the overall score because of it.)

Audio /Video Quality: The extras hover a little below the average mark, which is nothing too strange for an amateur release. The audio is fairly clear with an okay balance, but there are some noticeable background noises. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks okay for amateur porn. It's often a touch grainy with inconsistent lighting and a bit of camera motion, as well as having a fair amount of editing cuts.

The Movie:

As Code lays back on a bed naked, smoking hot busty brunette Tara comes in and shows him her hairy pussy as she wears only a white bra. Homegrown's releases often fell a little short for me as they frequently seemed more like they were just plain sloppy rather than being true amateur movies, but I can't say that about this one. Although Emma seemed like she might have had a bit of experience in front of the camera, the movie really did feel like an amateur release even if it was very disappointing as a whole. I'll readily admit that I always looked forward to seeing Tara and Code in action and was a big fan of their series over at Shot at Home, but this scene is quite possibly the weakest I've watched from them. Kyrie's scene with James is a joke and not only doesn't it even seem fit to be included in the outtakes of most movies, but it's quite possibly the worst scene I've watched in several years. Angel's scene isn't bad, but the only scene that got above the average mark was Emma's solo scene that closed the movie out. She looked to be having a lot of fun from stat to finish, and although she didn't seem to be much of an amateur she definitely raised the movie up a notch. If you're looking for amateur porn, you can do much better than Homegrown Video 735.

The Extras:

The extras are the same extras one will find on most other Homegrown releases. Trailers are included for many of Homegrown's previous releases as well as a few of their upcoming releases. They nicely let you see who's in each scene and give you several clips from each movie, but unfortunately also lump all of the trailers under two chapters so that you can't skip a title easily if you've already seen it or aren't interested in it. There's also weblinks and a blooper reel.

The blooper reel lasts about twelve and a half minutes. Unlike most blooper reels which actually contain bloopers from the movie on the DVD, this is a completely generic blooper reel that spans the entire range of Homegrown's releases. It spans so many movies that it's even organized into areas such as bodily functions. There's a few chuckles here, but it's not nearly as good as it might have been if it featured clips from this movie and odds are if you've checked out any other Homegrown releases you've already seen it.
