Initial Expectations: I haven’t seen much of anything from Metro’s Urban line. I’m still keeping an open mind about it.

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty good, but far from great.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and nicely balanced. There’s a few hints of background noises, but that’s about as far as it gets. The video is also nicely done. It’s clear and well lit, without any graininess or many shadow problems.

Music: The music has a decent beat to it and fits the urban theme of the movie. It’s a little on the loud side, so at times you can barely hear the talent.

Menus: The menus are fairly typical. The main menu has a little animation to give it a decent first impression and the chapter menu lets you choose a chapter based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature: Ho SmASShin’ puts a little spin on the normal first time scene. The girls here think they want to be in porn, but don’t think they’re ready for any dick. Being the smooth guy he is, Domineko calls up a few of his homegirls to break in this bunch of sweeties and introduces each scene as the movie goes on.

Japan starts things out with white girl Nikki and black girl Sheena. She has the girls strip down and Nikki gets right down to business sucking Japan’s smoothly shaven snatch while Sheena eats her pussy from behind. Japan has Nikki fetch her toy box next, and gets in the middle giving Nikki a dildo while taking a huge dildo from Sheena. She works on Nikki’s ass with her toy before breaking out a strap-on and working over Sheena’s pussy and ass. Finally Japan has the girls DP her with a pair of toys.

This is a pretty good scene, and there isn’t much doubt that it’s Nikki and Sheena’s first time on camera. They often seem a bit lost, but Japan does a great job of guiding them through the scene. Part of me dislikes the confusion of the girls, but that’s also part of the charm of a first time scene. The girls make their way through it all with some decent energy and a nice feel of reality to them, although the scene is held back a bit by some extremely limited camera angles.

Karizma, a heavily tattooed and unattractive black girl, is introduced to the wonderful world of porn by the cute Nika Chanel. Nika has Karizma eat her snatch before fucking it with a jackrabbit style vibe. Nika returns the favor, and then moves on to fuck her pussy with a strap-on and her ass with a dildo. Finally, Karizma fucks Nika from behind with a half-assed looking strap-on and gives her a double penetration with a dildo and her jackrabbit.

This is a disappointing scene. Karizma and Nika seems to have nice chemistry and put some good energy into it, but the camera work just isn’t there. I wanted a different angle almost constantly throughout the scene, as you could rarely see both girls in the shot. Even when you could only see one of the girls you frequently couldn’t see her face. I was also disappointed because the scene cut off as the girls kept going. There was some nice potential here, but the camera seemed to have a hard time finding it.

Next up, Dia Diva, a nice looking Latino with braces, takes on cute twenty two year old Stefany Mays. After a little kissing Dia does down to warm up Stefany with her tongue and fingers. Dia and Stefany kiss while Dia guides Stefany to her pussy to return her oral favors. The girls work back and forth naturally until Domineko delivers them a dildo, which Dia has Stefany put to work on her right away. Dia dominantly directs Stefany on how to fuck her, and even fingers her own ass a little while getting poked. Stefany gets her turn at the end of a couple toys as well, with Dia fucking her with a strap-on first and then adding a toy to her ass. Finally Dia takes a pair of dildos for a double penetration of her own until Stefany squirts Dia with one of the dildos to finish things up.

This is one of the best scenes in the movie. Yes, the camera work is still a bit limited, but it seems better in this scene. More importantly, however, the girls appear to be completely into each other. There’s nice energy that varies as the girls get going, and the same can be said about the vocals. The squirting dildo at the end of the scene is also a nice touch, and really gave the end of the scene a different touch. The only thing that’s missing are a few camera angles.

Tracy Mathis and Chocolate Tye take on Jane Doe in the penultimate scene. The girls quickly welcome Jane and stick her in the middle of their human sandwich. The girls move on to bring in a pair of strap-ons which they work among them before breaking out anal toys. Tracy quickly moves to a DP before Jane takes a toy in her can. The girls finish things up with a three way kiss and a wave.

This is another pretty good scene that’s held back by the camera work. I really like the strap-on section as they varied the style of it from the usual methods by having a girl wearing a strap-on get fucked by one. There’s nice chemistry between the girls and it ends up a good scene.

Envi Mi finishes things up with Divina, making for what’s immediately the best looking pairing in the movie. They kiss before Envi spanks Divina and examines her from behind. Envi gives Divina a little oral love before Domineko delivers her a jackrabbit style vibe. Envi breaks out her strap-on next, which Divina sucks before taking it missionary and doggie style. She finishes things up giving Envi her proper thanks with the help of a dildo and a buttplug.

Right from the start, this is the best scene in the entire movie. The girls are both extremely cute, and you can feel the spark between them right away. There’s plenty of smiles through the scene, as well as more than a few laughs and giggles. There’s a great feeling of playfulness throughout the scene, but it also brings in a bit of intensity between the girls. They’re both obviously into the action and each other, and it makes this turn into the best scene in the feature.

Ho SmASShin’ is a decent urban style porno. I like the idea of doing a fresh talent feature as an all girl feature, as well as mixing it up between groups and couples. Envi Mi and Divina easily turn in the best scene here, but the rest of them fall around average. The biggest thing which holds the scenes back is the camera work. It frequently focuses on one person at one angle, and it’s more common than not to not be able to see the face or faces of the girls in the shot. It also suffers a little from sameness. Every scene goes from natural to toys and strap-ons with the experienced girl taking a DP at the end of the scene. There’s anal action in every scene, but never any rimming and barely even any fingers. Mixing things up between groups and couples helps this a little, but it still feels extremely familiar by the end of the scene. Ho SmASShin’ is a decent urban movie that’s worth checking out by anybody who wants a few new faces in their darker lesbian porn.

Overall: Currently, many of Metro’s DVDs can be found online for between $12 and $25 with most stores offering them for around $20. The low end is pretty fair here. There’s some nice sex here, but the camera work is very limited. The technical aspects are nicely done, but there isn’t much for extras.

Note to Metro: This is a great idea you have here. With a little better camera work this would have been a lot hotter movie.
