Initial Expectations: Sturgeon Court has been putting out some great cocktease movies. I can't help but look forward to anything I see him make.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty well done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice a single background noise. The video is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen. It has a little grain and the camera work is smooth and nicely balanced.

Music: None

False Advertising: The cover lists a photo gallery, a behind the scenes featurette, and website information for extras, none of which are included on the DVD. I was told ahead of time about this problem as well as it being a problem that they quickly realized and which I expect to be solved for future pressings of this release.

Menus: The main menu lets you choose between the main movie and chapter menu as John does a little farming in the background. The chapter menu lets you choose between the three scenes based on text choices as Nyomi sings about the Tiki Tiki Tiki room while dancing in the background.

Scene 2 - Hailey Young, Nyomi Zen, and John West

Scene 3 - Hailey Young and John West

High Plains Denial is another nice Sturgeon Court cocktease movie. There's a good balance between the girls and the scene keeps a pretty light and playful feeling through the movie. I think this is the lightest I've seen of Court's denial movies, and although I can see some people getting a little down on it for that reason, for me it helped me to enjoy it a little more just due to the variety. I also like how this one mixes up the girls a bit by having them team up on John in the middle rather than having them each take a turn and then hook up for the final segment. Sturgeon Court has repeatedly shown himself to be one of the best directors out there when it comes to orgasm denial movies, and although he lightens things up a bit with High Plains Denial, it's still well done and enjoyable.

Currently, many of Venus Girls' DVDs can be found online for between about $18 and $24 with only a couple stores offering them for under $20. Those new to cocktease movies or who like a bit of variety will probably enjoy this one, but hardcore orgasm denial buffs might want to rent this one first due to its lighter feel. The technical aspects are nicely done, but sadly there's no extras. This is a pretty good DVD.

Note to Venus Girls: It's great to see you using the widescreen format, but in your future releases I hope you give it the anamorphic transfer it deserves.
