Audio Quality: Excellent
Video Quality: Excellent. A lot of credit should go to the editor (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name). The editor really deserves a lot of credit, which Brad Armstrong also admits.
Music: There's a wide range of musical styles throughout the movie. The fit the scenes very well, but there are a few spots where the music is a little overpowering.
Initial Expectations: Very high. I'm expecting great sex with a very good storyline and acting.
Initial Reaction: No plot, but the sex is amazing!
Disc Problems: It's not an actual problem, but the movie starts about 30 seconds after the menu comes up. This seemed a little fast, as I didn't even have time to go pour myself a beer and get back to my chair after popping in the DVD before it started.
Review: I don't remember if it was in the commentary or the behind the scenes, but at some point Brad Armstrong said that 'Hell On Heels' was Jenna's first feature in about a year and a half. He also said that she chose to do an all - girl feature in order to start it off slowly. If this is how Jenna starts things off slow and easy, I'm glad she didn't go all out on this one. I think I might have had a body part or two explode if she did.
'Hell On Heels' collects seven scenes with Jenna and covers many different fetishes while remaining very mainstream friendly, at least as mainstream friendly as an all - girl feature can be. Every scene has anal and toys, so for those of you who don't care for either of those, you might want to skip this one. As usual for a Brad Armstrong feature, the sex scenes are amazing. First, Jenna does the horse fetish with Emily Jewel and Sterling (both who do their first anal scene). Next black winged angels Stephanie Swift and Felicia join pure white angel Jenna with a feather fetish. This scene was nominated for AVN's best all girl scene of the year. It's a very good scene, but I thought others were better here. Nikki then joins Jenna as they cover a military fetish with Sydnee Steele in a vinyl straight-jacket in a jail basement. This is by far the darkest scene in the feature. Nikki and Jenna then do their own take on Dr. Frankenstein and his monster with an assortment of medical tools. Felicia and Nikki return for the fifth scene to join Jenna in corsets and gloves. This scene has a really classy turn of the century feel right down to the design of the dildos. In one of my personal favorites in 'Hell on Heels', Asia next has Jenna all tied up. Asia has a vinyl kimono and Jenna is tied with bright red rope in what appears to be the styles of the Japanese masters. It isn't, as Asia can remove them as necessary. Asia fans may also note that she does an extremely rare anal scene with a toy. Finally, Shayla joins Jenna in a high tech scene. Both are dressed similar to the Borgs from Star Trek. If the Borgs looked like this, I think the Crew of the Enterprise would have been fighting to be assimilated long ago. I don't want to go into any further detail in the scenes since I don't think I could really do them justice.
As usual, Wicked does a great job with the extras. The interview is pretty good. Jenna talks about why she left and why she came back. The behind the scenes is also very good. It covers every scene in the movie and deals with everybody in the movie. The commentary is pretty good, but there's a lot of dead spots in the beginning. In addition to the normal background information on scenes, Brad talks quite a bit about some of the legal aspect of the adult film industry. In both the commentary and the behind the scenes, you really notice the censorship in the adult film industry. Brad Armstrong says things several times followed by something like "Oops, corporate says I can't talk about that.". In the behind the scenes, virtually every brand name of Brad's clothes is blacked out. It was really kind of sad watching the behind the scenes and seeing the censorship.
As much as I wanted to rate 'Hell On Heels' a 5 overall, I couldn't. The girls were all gorgeous and did a great job in every sex scene. The audio and video were also great. I don't think I can say anything else about the quality and the number of extras. There's just one thing missing. A plot. It wouldn't matter how loose a storyline was weaved around the sex scenes, as long as there was some kind of plot. Without a plot, I don't feel I can give any movie, no matter how hot it is, the top rating.
Raincoat Factor: So extreme that there will be puddles under some people. I admit that this probably happens with most movies, but it's going to happen a lot more here.
Overall: Unless you don't like all-girl movies or ones with a lot of anal or toys, pick 'Hell On Heels' up. Jenna really made up for lost time with this one, as there isn't a bad scene in it. As usual, the audio and video quality are great, and Wicked has a lot of great extras.
