Initial Expectations: This one has interested me since I first read the press release about it months ago. I’m also curious about it since it might be a nice preview of the things we can expect from Shay Sights and Renee La Rue’s recently created Dragonfly Studios.

Initial Reaction: It’s okay, but not my kind of touch.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting nastier sex

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and nicely balanced, but there are a few moments when it crackles as if the recording device was maxed out. Even worse, there are a couple parts where talking between the cast and crew aren’t edited out that are very noticeable. The video is also pretty good, although there are a few remnants that flash by. It’s lit very well and has a natural feel, but it also shows a fair amount of grain in places.

Music: The music is nicely done, and balanced very well with the rest of the audio. It changes in style a little throughout the movie, but normally has a light rock groove to it that works well.

Disc Problems / Complaints: Wildlife is starting to put commercials for their website at the start of the movie on their DVDs. This annoys me, especially since it’s made a part of the first chapter so you can’t skip it to get right to the movie. If you do skip forward you miss most of the opening to the movie.

Menus: The menus are fairly simple. The main menu mixes a few stills with a small clip from the feature. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number.

The Feature: Shay Sights plays one of the key people at the Healing Touch, where one can get massages, gemstone therapy, plenty of other new age experiences. She tries to help people through her work there, but is troubled by much of what she sees in the world around her.

Nick Manning starts things out with Venus after forcefully reminding her how he hired her when nobody else would. She strips down at his command and then attacks his cock orally. Nick doesn’t bother to give her any warmup in return, but goes directly to boning her missionary style. Nick works over both Venus’ pussy and ass, the later of which Venus frequently seems uncomfortable during. She appears to enjoy herself much more as he fucks her ass from behind, and even encourages Nick to give it to her harder as he calls her a whore and a bitch. Finally, Venus nicely takes Nick’s nut butter in her mouth. Although I could get in to a little of the action, much of the scene didn’t do anything for me. Nick’s playing the part of a jerk even before the scene, so I can let the degradation go a little here. The camera work and editing, however, focused so much on the close-up that I couldn’t resist the fast forward button.

Dillion Day and Renee La Rue get busy in the unheard of porn location of a bed. Dillion starts off gentlemanly eating out and fingering Renee’s pussy as she demands that he make her cum. She returns the favor with some nice knob gobbling, much of which you can’t see because the cameraman instead chose to focus on Renee’s pussy and pucker. Granted, she has a very nice looking pussy and pucker, but I couldn’t help but think of the cameraman as somebody who should take lessons from Ed Powers because at least Ed knows where to aim the tripod. Renee and Dillion move things along with a little reverse cowgirl, doggie, and missionary before finishing things up with an impressive and enthusiastic facial. It’s a pretty hot scene that has great energy. As usual, Renee really gets into things, and she seems perfectly matched with Dillion in this scene. They play off each other extremely well and easily cruise by the first scene in every way.

Evan Stone starts out the next scene giving Shay Sights a massage and freeing her from her restrictive clothing. He moves down to tongue Shay’s pussy and ass, and in a very nice touch, they share a few laughs as he playfully eats her. She returns the favor, with Evan turning it into a sixty nine, before climbing on to ride him reverse cowgirl style. They continue through missionary and doggie before Evan gives Shay a nice facial, and fully nailing her in the right eye. Once again, the chemistry goes a long way into making the scene work. Evan and Shay have enough chemistry that if I wouldn’t know better I’d think they might be off screen partners also. There’s plenty of smiling and a playful nature that had me smiling as well through the scene. Unfortunately, some things also seem a little sloppy, such as Evan Stone’s condom changing from white to pink during the scene. I can only hope that there was a brand change in the middle of the scene rather than the red tide setting in.

Chennin Blanc and Joel Lawrence decide to get busy on the couch when they can’t get through to the Healing Touch in the penultimate scene. Joel helps Chennin out of her pants so he can orally attack her. He skips any kind of oral warmup for himself and goes directly to boning her missionary style. Chennin makes sure that Joel isn’t neglected by sucking his schlong after he fucks her a little bit, and then moves into the mandatory reverse cowgirl. They finish things up doggie style and with Joel blowing his ball blast onto Chennin’s waiting tongue. It’s a pretty average scene, and nothing too special in any way.

Finally, Aria and Cheyne Collins come to Shay Sights to deal with her cancer. This one had pretty much lost me before it started after suggesting that Aria’s throat cancer was caused by her wanting to be an artist at one time and not becoming one, and that Shay and a raw food diet would cure her cancer better than doctors could. After one of Shay’s treatments, Aria gives Shay a topless massage as a thanks. Aria quickly switches from working on Shay with her mouth to her hands, and is discovered by Chyne almost as soon as she begins. Cheyne quickly joins in, eating Aria from behind and letting Shay tongue Aria’s ass. Aria lays so Cheyne can eat her and fuck her while Shay rides her face and watches. Shay also takes a turn riding Cheyne after they work on him orally before letting Cheyne fuck her from behind and pop on their faces. It’s an okay scene, but I’ve seen much better from Aria.

Healing Touch is a unique movie, and the only new age porno that I know of. It seems very personal and important to Shay Sights, who in addition to starring in the movie, wrote it, but often comes off a little forced and preachy. Perhaps this is due to this being the first movie that Shay has penned (as far as I know), or it could very well be trying to fit the subject to an adult film. Some of it also didn’t work for me since most new age stuff has always seemed like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me. This makes me think that people who are into the new age lifestyle will probably enjoy this feature and its subject much more than I did. Sadly, the sex here wasn’t good enough to make me forget about the problems I had with the non-sex portions of the movie. Much of this is due to the camera work, which focused heavily on close-ups, lingered there for much longer than I like, and often focused somewhere completely different from what I wanted to see. Healing Touch will be enjoyable for many new age practitioners, but many porn fans might find the ideas inside laughable.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts about two and a half minutes with about seven seconds per very nice looking snapshot. As with many of their other recent releases, you get a small clip of the movie along the snapshot, which doesn’t do anything for me since the two rarely correspond to the same scene. Of course, there’s also the usual contact and internet information, but there’s also an eight and a half minute behind the scenes featurette. The behind the scenes nicely works its way around the making of the movie, both capturing the scenes being shot and what’s going on other places on the set. It’s a decent behind the scenes featurette, just like most of the other behind the scenes featurettes Wildlife has included on their DVDs in the past. That said, I can’t help but be a little disappointed with the extras here. From what I remember from the press release on this movie, it’s basically Shay Sights’ baby, yet all there is in the extras is somebody mentioning that she wrote the script. From what I remember, this was a very personal movie for Shay, and I would have loved to have had an interview with her talking about that on this DVD.

Overall: Currently, most of Wildlife’s DVDs can be found online for between $12 and $22, with many stores offering them for under $15. This is pretty fair for what you get. Most everything here is pretty average, but there is a decent behind the scenes featurette.

Note to Wildlife Productions: If you feel the need to put commercials before your movies, which is something I don’t know anybody who likes, please give them their own individual chapter rather than blending it in with one of the chapters from the movie.
