The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Although I'm not a fan of barely legal action, I really enjoyed the original Hard Candy. With the cast Robby's put together for its sequel, there's no way for me to not go into this one without sky high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It's another very nicely done barely legal release with Robby D. showing he really deserves a lot more attention than he seems to be getting.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting barely legal action with a bit of variety.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting all teenage girls or who doesn't like anal

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As one would expect with a Digital Playground release, the technical aspects are very impressive. The audio is very well done, with its only problems being a slight balance problem in Hillary Scott's scene and a loud car driving by during Jessi's. The video also shows plenty of care, starting with an anamorphic widescreen presentation. It's all lit very nicely and barely has a hint of grain. There's a few minor fast pans and a little shakiness, but the entire movie feels like it was shot by hand and for that it looks very good.

Menus: The main menu opening is a bit long, but does a nice job giving a hardcore teaser for the movie before setting into an average still. The chapter menu is pretty generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Robby D. continues his barely legal series with Hard Candy 2. He varies the scene from scene to scene, sometimes going with a little story and sometimes going with a tease to start things off. Sometimes he goes with a hard gonzo feel and sometimes he goes with a higher budget all-sex feel. Regardless, every scene here focuses on barely legal girls.

Hard Candy 2 is a very worthy sequel to the original. The girls don't always come across as barely legal, but I think Robby D. more than made up for it due to the overall variety he has in the movie. He has most everything in here except for girl  girl action and creampies, and he varies the setups just as much as the sex. Riley and Claire's scenes didn't work as well for me as the others, with Riley not seeming to capture the younger feel as well as some of the others while Clarie's scene was haunted by too many phantom cocks for my tastes. As for the others, I'd have a very hard time deciding. Each scene has their own feel and flavor, and every one worked very well for me. Even with a couple little bumps in the road. Hard Candy 2 is one sweet treat!

Currently, many of Digital Playgrounds bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. If you like barely legal action with a bit of an anal slant, this one should be well worth the money. The sex varies a bit, but overall is darn hot while including a nice variety. The technical aspects are very nicely done, but sadly there isn't really any effort put into the extras. This is a very nice feature on a DVD that could use just a touch more work overall.

Note to Digital Playground: It seemed like the cast had a lot of fun shooting this one. A behind the scenes featurette in the extras always goes very well with that feeling...
