The Movie |
Hallowdick is a horror feature adult movie conceived and directed by Patrick Delphia. With the cheaper methods of shooting movies that produce high-quality results, more and more independent (non-studio attached) movies are being made in the adult industry, which helps bring new air into the adult industry; Hallowdick is one of those movies.
In Hallowdick, a group of friends is having a party on Halloween night. One of the participants is Jamie (Fallon West), who's distant cousin The Curve (Charlie Comet) is hunting down to kill. Jamie and her boyfriend (Patrick Delphia) slip off to play with each other as do Draven (Draven Star) and her boyfriend Brock (Brock Doom), allowing The Curve to attack the party.
Patrick Delphia was smart in how he has Hallowdick play out. He keeps all the action to one house, which allowed him to shoot entirely in one location, and he had more cast members than just the sexual ones so that the party was more fleshed out than it otherwise would have been.
The story is obviously a take-off of John Carpenter's 1978 horror film Halloween, and Patrick Delphia has done an excellent job of shrinking the movie down for an adult movie allowing the movie to look good in the constraints of his budget yet remain interesting.
Patrick Delphia has also done a nice job with the non-sexual footage getting enough so that Hallowdick feels like a feature film and not just two sex scenes strung together. He could have easily added to the non-sexual portions a little to flesh out the movie some more; however, the movie does feel complete as it is.
The cast in the movie is enjoyable. They do a good job creating the small party atmosphere and do well with their non-sexual material. There are two sex scenes, an oral scene with Draven Star and Brock Doom and a full sex scene with Fallon West and Patrick Delphia. Both sex scenes are well performed and are interlaced through most of the movie.
The one major drawback in Hallowdick is the cinematography. There are some portions of the movie where the cinematography is well-done; however, the sex scenes seem to rely far too heavily on what appears to be a stationary camera. This reviewer wishes there was more footage shot from different angles so that when edited together, the sex scenes would seem more fleshed out.
All-in-all, Hallowdick is an enjoyable hardcore horror venture. Hallowdick isn't perfect but is far better than many of the horror adult movies on the market. Fans of hardcore horror movies will enjoy this one.
The Edition |
The edition of Hallowdick screened is the download-only edition available from Philavise on ManyVids. Hallowdick was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 2160p (commonly called UHD or 4K). The picture for Hallowdick looks great without blemishes or issues that were noticed by this reviewer. There is a DravenStarXXX bug in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen throughout the movie.
Hallowdick is presented with an English MPEG AAC Stereo audio track. The sound in the movie is good without any noticeable defects. The dialog in the movie is clear and easy to understand at all times.
There aren't any extras available with the download-only edition of Hallowdick on ManyVids.
Final Thoughts |
Hallowdick is an independent hardcore horror movie from writer and director Patrick Delphia. Hallowdick is a take-off of Halloween, on a much smaller scale than John Carpenter's film. Patrick Delphia has made a decent hardcore horror with an enjoyable story and two good sex scenes. The download-only edition from Philavise on ManyVids is excellent with beautiful picture and audio quality.
