Audio /Video Quality: As usual with Ed Powers, the technical aspects leave more than a little to be desired. The audio has a frequent whisper in the background, and if there are any background noises you’re going to hear them. Surprisingly, however, the audio is balanced pretty well. The video is pretty close to VHS quality. It has a soft feel and a little pixelation, a fair amount of camera shake, and you frequently get to see Ed’s helpers and the camera. Surprisingly, the lighting is pretty good.

Disc Complaints / Misleading Advertising: The cover for this DVD is horrible, and almost misleading. Okay, the cover lets you know who’s in the feature very well, and includes many photos. Unfortunately, it doesn’t let you know that this is an Ed Powers compilation DVD. Since I picked this movie thinking it was a new feature with midgets, I’m more than a little annoyed to find out that this is #1 a compilation DVD and #2 an Ed Powers DVD. I like Ed now and then, but he’s somebody many people avoid almost as much as having the French as backup. Once I learned what this DVD really was I was more than a little ticked off and my expectations dropped drastically. The overall rating also dropped by a half point as I felt mislead by the cover.

Menus: The main menu is plain, and blends the chapter menu with the main menu in the same way as many of Ed Powers’ movies do.

The Feature: Half-Pint Honies is a compilation of Ed Powers’ scenes with midgets. You’re nicely told where each scene comes from and who the little person in each scene is.

Things start out with Bridget Powerz’s scene from More Dirty Debunantes 103. Things start out with a short interview that’s heavily censored due to brand names, and where Bridget gets several digs into Ed such as having her name spelled differently from his so nobody thinks they’re related. After a little kissing, Ed gets Bridget a pocket rocket to masturbate with and then works her pussy and ass over with his tongue and fingers. Bridget returns Ed’s oral favors, being the perfect height to suck his cock while they’re both standing, before riding him reverse cowgirl style. Bridget does a great job here, and Ed is even likable as they start things out. Unfortunately, as soon as he starts going down on Bridget, he seems to forget all about her and is more concerned about watching himself in the monitor than pleasing her. Bridget, on the other hand gets into things no matter what position Ed works her over in, and there are quite a few of those. Bridget finally finishes things up taking a good facial from Ed and never shying away from it. It’s an okay scene, and all credit for it getting that far goes to Bridget.

Twigget’s very first scene from More Dirty Debutantes 162 is next, and starts off with Ed making jokes about how he’s somebody she can look up to. After a little talk and a few more tasteless comments, Ed lets Twigget warm herself up with a pocket rocket. Twigget gives Ed a little head before letting him fuck her in a few positions. Ed has problems performing and blames it on wearing a rubber, and Trigget frequently looks like she’d rather be balancing her checkbook using an abacus than fucking Ed. Twigget finishes things up taking her first facial, and gags a bit as Ed blows it in her mouth. I guess it’s a fitting end to this scene, which almost had my head bobbing like Ray Charles. Twigget seemed very nervous throughout this scene, and I think that was what held this scene back the most for me. She was enjoying the sex, but nervousness normally doesn’t mean fun for me.

Bridget Powerz returns for another scene, which this time comes from More Dirty Debutantes 142. Obviously a little time passed since Bridget’s previous scene with Ed, as she now has both nipples pierced and several more tattoos. She sucks Ed before letting him fuck her in several positions, and once again puts in some great energy while Ed lays back and does his Al Gore / bump on a log impression. The only time Ed shows much life is when he has to stand up and fuck Bridget’s ass missionary style. Bridget finishes things up taking Ed’s guy goo across her open mouth and laughs as she takes it. Once again, Bridget does a great job but Ed holds things back. She laughs and smiles throughout the scene, and looks to be genuinely enjoying herself. Sadly, she can’t do it all herself and Ed holds it all back.

L’il Romeo and Ryan Meadows’ scene from Real Naturals 20 is next, although it’s credited to More Dirty Debutantes 103. Ryan starts off masturbating with a small toy before Ed lets L’il Romeo lick her pussy when she says she’d rather have him eat her than masturbate. Ryan gives Romeo a little head in return before they play with each other to finish the warmup. Ryan has Romeo fuck her from behind and in a modified spoon before he pops in her pussy. It’s a pretty good scene with nice chemistry, but the editing really held the scene back. Ed sounded like he was snapping pictures throughout the scene, and every time his camera clicked the view changed. Both Ryan and Romeo looked to be enjoying themselves, but I couldn’t get into the scene much because of the editing.

Things come to a close with Gauge’s scene from More Dirty Debutantes 146 where she takes on both Ed and Mojo, showing that two negatives don’t always make a positive. Ed licks and fingers Gauge a little before bringing in Mojo to see if Gauge can fit them both in her mouth. Ed and Mojo take turns fucking her and getting sucked before they take turns DPing her. She finally finishes things with a decent double facial. This is another okay at best scene. Gauge takes the DP okay, but the camerawork focuses on the close-ups so much that you barely saw how Gauge reacted to the DP. This came close to ruining the scene for me, and the camera work was such that I was never able to get into this scene at any time. I’m not much of a Gauge fan, so I’m sure some of her fans will disagree with me, but this scene didn’t do much for me and although Gauge is very small, her presence seemed off in this comp.

Half-Pint Honies is a decent compilation if you’re an Ed Powers fan, and actually shows some care by letting you know where the scenes come from. In most cases they even get it right! Unfortunately, if you’re an Ed Powers fan you’re not going to know it since nowhere on the box is Ed ever mentioned, which really ticks me off and makes me lenient to recommend it to people. Of course, that also means that if you can’t stand Ed you’re going to be ticked off since this feature is 100% Ed. That statement probably sums up this DVD completely. There’s some great performances from the girls, but Ed and his style frequently held things back for me. Bridget Powerz easily gives the best performance here, and has me wanting to check out some more midget porn just to see more of her in action. Anybody else looking for midget porn might want to do the same rather than picking up Half-Pint Honies.

Overall: Currently, Half-Pint Honies can be found online for between $19 and $25 with most stores offering them near the low end. If you like midgets and especially Ed Powers you’ll probably like this one, but others will want to rent it first. As usual with Ed, the technical aspects are lacking a lot and there aren’t any extras worth mentioning.

Note to New Machine: Please label your movies better! I think you’re going to tick off a lot of people with this one.
