Initial Expectations: I’ve heard great things about Guy Capo, but have only seen Gothsend from him. That seems like a very different type of movie in general, so I’m trying to keep my mind open going into this one.

Initial Reaction: I’m definitely going to have to see a lot more of Guy Capo’s work!

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done, although a little artistic. The audio is nicely balanced and clear, but there are a few effects thrown in now and then to draw some things out or to give the movie a slightly different feel. The video is much the same way. I think it was shot on video rather than film, but I can’t be sure (and I’m going to work by that assumption). It looks like some filters were used to give the movie a more film-like feel, and they work very well. There’s even a little black and white footage mixed in. The movie is well lit and there aren’t any of the minor camera shake or soft focus problems to interfere with things. This is a very nice looking and sounding movie.

Music: Guy Capo did the music for the movie, and does a very nice job. It feels a little like the typical porno music, but there’s something there that sets is apart slightly and raises it up a notch. It’s also very well balanced with the rest of the audio, and is at just the right level and style to help out the scenes rather than taking away from them or sitting there ambivalently. It often blends completely with the scenes to the point that I didn’t even notice it until I started wondering about the music. At that point, I heard it again.

Menus: The menus are pretty standard. The main menu works a bit of the movie in with a still while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number. Hopefully DVSX will go back to listing the name of the ladies in each scene with the clip rather than the scene number.

The Feature

Sex can bring out some strong emotions. Sometimes they’re good, and sometimes they’re far from it, but at some point there’s always a struggle for control and dominance. In Grudgefuck Guy Capo looks at the darker side of the emotions that sex brings out, such as revenge, fighting, and jealousy.

Scene 1 - Katrina Kraven and Lee Stone

After a heated fight, Lee throws Katrina down and starts ripping her clothes off. Scene 2 - Selena Silver and Kris Slater

Even with that feeling, this was still an enjoyable scene.

Scene 6 - Vicky Vette and Cheyne Collins

It also gives the scene a much lighter feel than the others, although the sex is plenty hard. Cheyne and Vicky look like they’re having a fantastic time throughout the entire scene, and both put plenty of energy into the scene. In some ways this is the softest scene in the movie, yet at the same time it’s one of the strongest. This is a great scene to end Grudgefuck with.

Watching Grudgefuck, I couldn’t help but think about somebody giving Guy Capo one of the porno cookie cutters that so many other directors use to make their movies. I think you could probably sell tickets to the event and start a betting pool on which orifice Guy would shove it into of the person who tried giving it to him. Yes, Grudgefuck has a lot of the usual things in it that are in most other pornos, but Capo gives it a fresh feeling that’s filled with emotions other than just horny or anticipation of collecting a check. Sometimes the fresh feeling is from the artistic presentation that Capo starts the scenes with and sometimes it’s from the raw emotions that I think everybody watching the movie can relate too. There’s a desire here that’s missing in many other movies, and you can feel it in almost every scene. Yes, there’s a couple scenes that didn’t work that well for me, and they’re both of the group scenes. This is curious enough to me that I can’t help but wonder if they didn’t work quite as well because the emotions are diluted a little between three people rather than two. The opening and closing scenes are easily the best in the movie, and to give Capo a lot of credit, they both have completely different feelings that are at opposite ends of the spectrum in the movie. Grudgefuck has a few minor faults, but the rest of it is so strong that I can’t help but highly recommend it despite its faults.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Double Parked 10, Gothsend, Truly Nice Tits 7, and First Date. The photo gallery contains over forty very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. There’s also weblinks, cumshot recaps, solo scenes, and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette is shot by Cliff Cummings and lasts about three and a half minutes. There’s plenty of bloopers, some outtakes, a little fun on the set, and even a word or two with Guy Capo. I’ll admit that I wasn’t expecting too much when I saw the length of this featurette, and it went far beyond what I would have even dreamed of. It’s definitely a case of quality over quantity, and I think I enjoyed these three and a half minutes more than three quarters of the twenty plus minute long behind the scenes featurettes I’ve watched lately. This is a short and sweet featurette that’s definitely worth checking out!

As always, DVSX has included solo scenes with each of the girls and lets you choose which girl you’d like to see based on a still photo and a number. Katrina, Selena, and Vicky each have a scene lasting about three minutes while each of the other girls have about a two minute scene. Shayna’s is the only scene which didn’t impress me too much, mostly because she overdid things right from the start. Vicky’s the only girl to use toys, and even puts them to work in each of her holes while spouting off some nice trash talking. She almost goes over the top, but looks to be having so much fun that I couldn’t dislike the scene. Selena also goes the extra mile with a little ass play, and even throws in a taste. The other girls do a nice job, but just stick to a little pussy play that they get into pretty well. It’s a nice selection of scenes, and a great extra. The only thing I can really see that might improve this is to let the viewer choose a scene based on the name of the lady rather than just a number.
