The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I don’t think I heard a single background noise. The video is also very well done, and is nicely lit with just a touch of softness. There are some artistic effects here and there, and they too are normally well done.

Music: The music is dark and moody, and far from your typical porno music. It rests in the background and fits the style of the movie amazingly well.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and blends a little animation with a still of the lovely Taryn Thomas. The chapter menu shows some nice care and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene as well as the name of the girl in the scene.

The Feature

Guy Capo continues to morph his Gothsend series as it enters its third installments. Gone are the interviews about why the chicks like goth as well as getting right to things. Instead, the scenes here frequently have a small setup that plays into the scene.

Scene 1 - Renee Pornero and Alias

Renee, with her hair curly and red, starts things out in a white dress with black stockings, sexy shoes, a garter belt, and red panties along with a little red face paint, tattoos, and a cross around her neck, lets Alias play with her pussy after showing him one of her tits. Scene 2 - Carmen and Chris Cannon

Scene 4 - Dillan Lauren and Brett Rockman

Gothsend 3 is a release that strikes me as something that’s either going to work for you in a big way or not really at all. For me, it’s the not really at all, but if this one interests you, please do not let my not caring for it stop you from checking it out. I enjoy watching fetish movies, but the goth thing just doesn’t do much for me. Although most of the stuff here didn’t do much for me, I can’t deny that Guy Capo has a very nice artistic eye. There’s some great setups here as well as some very nice attention that went into the costumes and sets. You can sense a feeling of care about the movie as well, which is something that I always like to see and sadly don’t feel nearly as much as I’d like to. All that said, I did really enjoy Renee Pornero’s scene, which did a great job of balancing style and sexuality and is perhaps my favorite scene from all that I’ve seen from this series. Gothsend 3 didn’t do much for me, but I can’t deny that it is well done and has some definite care put into it.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery contains about forty very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. Trailers are included for Girly Thoughts 2, Ass Factor, Grudgefuck 2, and First Date. There’s also a behind the scenes featurette, solo scenes, cumshot recaps, and weblinks.

Solo scene are included for each girl, and last from between just over three minutes with Jen X to nearly five minutes with Brooklyn Holiday. The girls each just play with themselves for the camera, just as one would expect. Brooklyn sets her scene apart by talking to the camera as she works herself over, and Renee surprised me a little with her scene by having it be very soft and anal-free. The scenes are okay, but nothing overly special.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about four and a quarter minutes. It’s mostly outtakes, with a few girls cracking up, interrupting the scenes by actually having orgasms, and having to take a break to clarify what Capo’s going for. It’s a nice little featurette, with Capo coming off pretty well with the few times you hear him.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many DVSX titles can be found online for between about $13 and $25 with many stores offering them for around $20. Unless you’re a fan of this series already, rent this one first. There’s some decent action, but the style is something I can see missing a lot of people. There’s some nice care put into the technical aspects, and the extras are just as good as what one normally expects from DVSX. This is a nicely done DVD.

Note to DVSX: Although this one didn’t work for me, it was very nice to see you trying something different from everything else out there.
