Initial Expectations: Anders Manga has impressed me since I saw his first moive. I can’t help but be curious about everything he makes.

Initial Reaction: It’s nothing really great, but it isn’t bad either. More than anything, it’s different.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, although they do get a little quiet a couple times. The video is also nicely done. Although the locations are very dark, the sets are lit at a level that seems right. They’re not dark, yet they’re not bright either. There’s a little grain to the video, which also works as it gives the movie a slightly more artistic feel that works for it. This is a very nice looking and sounding movie, especially for one with a slight bondage feel as bondage movies normally don’t have the best of technical aspects.

Music: The music ranges from classical to alternative rock complete with vocals. It’s always kept at a very nice level and goes a long way towards helping Goth Girl Diaries have the artistic feel that works so well in it.

Menus: The menus are very simple. There isn’t a chapter menu, which makes me guess that somebody’s channeling a little of David Lynch, and the rest of the menus are all stills. Normally this wouldn’t do much for me, but Anders Manga has always put a little extra artistic effort into his movies and this helps them work better for me.

The Feature

Goth Girl Diaries revolves around a couple goth girls writing down their fantasies in a diary. The scenes cut between the girls writing down the fantasies and the fantasies themselves. I haven’t a clue as to who’s who here, so I’m guessing they appear in the movie in the same order their names appear in the credits.

Scene 1 - Aksana Kuzmin

Very average looking brunette Aksana starts things sliding her shoes off followed by her panties and stockings so she can gently play with her pussy. When she gets fully stripped down she pours a little candle waxy over her chest and then goes back to diddling herself with her fingers. Finally, the scene fades out.

This is a different scene. It has an almost softcore feel to it due to the softness of the sex, yet the darkness of the scene makes it a little harder. It’s slightly artistic, yet not so much that it interferes with the sex. There’s nothing wildly great about the scene, but there’s still something likeable about it.

Scene 2 - Mistress Kiska

Mistress Kiska, a nice looking woman with dyed red hair and a great body, starts out the next scene with her hands tied together. She works herself out of the ropes and continues to strip down so she can pleasure herself. Mistress Kiska plays with the ropes a little as she plays with her tits and pussy naturally, but mostly just works on herself with her fingers.

This is a nicely done scene. Mistress Kiska keeps a playful feel to the entire thing, and a nice feel of sexuality as well. There’s still the artistic feeling of the opening scene, yet the sexual feel is much stronger. This is a nice solo scene.

Scene 3 - Mistress Kiska and Aksana Kuzmin

Aksana and Mistress Kiska join up for the next scene. Aksana finds Mistress Kiska wearing only a black robe and starts kissing and caressing her way across her. The girls trade places and lightly work each other over before Mistress Kiska breaks out a purple vibe. She fucks herself with it while they both play with Aksana’s pussy. Finally, the girls kiss and cuddle together to finish the scene.

This is an okay scene. It’s very soft and slightly artistic, but that fits the movie very well. The camera angles work well, and there’s a nice feel of chemistry and sexuality. This is a soft but passionate scene.

Scene 4 - Aksana Kuzmin and Ivana Koloff

Finally, Aksana fantasizes about Ivana finding her tied up. She struggles a little as Ivana kisses her way around her body, as well as driving a couple fingers into her cunt. When she gets loose they play around orally with a string of anal beads, but rather than putting them to use Ivana gets tied up so Aksana can kiss her way around her bald beaver. Aksana lets Ivana suck her tits a little, and they share a vibrator. Aksana makes sure to take care of Ivana with her tongue, fingers, and vibrator, and Ivana looks to get into every thrust and lick.

This is a pretty hot scene. The editing is a bit choppy, but the chemistry between the girls is strong enough that it didn’t really interfere with things for me. As usual it has a slightly artistic look, and it works well here once again. This is easily the best scene in the movie and does a great job of showing that the people at Twisted Transmissions know how to blend sex and art.

Goth Girl Diaries is a nicely done piece of artistic smut. It’s much more artistic than smutty, but is nicely done. There’s a feeling of sexuality in each scene, but there appears to be just as much attention paid to the lighting, costumes, and set. There’s nothing complex about any of them, but they just seem right for the movie. Goth Girl Diaries doesn’t appear to want to be your typical porno, and instead wraps itself around female fantasies. This would normally hold it back for guys while making it a little more interesting for women, which holds the movie back a little for me. I’ve been told that one of my strengths as a reviewer is to be able to see the movie as part of the market it’s aimed for, which leads me to the biggest problem I see with this movie. There are very few women I know of who look for all girl movies. If there was a guy in here somewhere I can see the movie working much better, but an all girl movie with a female focus just seems like it’s aiming for such a small market that I can’t see it doing that well despite being well made. Twisted Transmissions does a nice job with Goth Girl Diaries, but I think its aimed at such a small group of people (who should definitely check it out) that it’s going to go largely unnoticed.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Spanked!, Affliction, Anita Rose, Girl Show 2, Digital Submissive, Girl Show, VOD, and Pandora’s Box. There’s also a slightly amusing web commercial and a bonus scene.

Bonus Scene

I’m not sure who the girl is in the bonus scene, but it lasts about eleven minutes. She starts out on a couch wearing only fuck-me pumps and a dark shirt that’s ready to come off. She plays with her bald beaver naturally before reaching over for a pink and white vibe. She rubs the vibe all over her pussy and sticks it in a little before going back to her fingers. Finally, the scene ends with the girl looking pretty satisfied and blowing the camera a kiss.

This is an okay scene. I like the amateur feel of the scene as well the natural flow to it. The only problem with it for me is that the girl looks to be trying much too hard. She starts with the vocals the minute the scene starts and doesn’t stop until it’s done. As a bonus scene, however, it works and makes a nice extra.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, Twisted Transmission’s DVDs can be found online for between about $5 and $25, with stores offering them everywhere in between. If you’re at all interested in this one, make sure to pick it up at the low end. At that price, even if it doesn’t work for you you’re not really out anything. The movie is definitely artistic, and the overall DVD shows some nice care towards the technical aspects and extras. This is a nicely done DVD.

Note to Twisted Transmissions: It’s great to see you taking risks and aiming for some of the smaller segments of the market. I really hope you can survive making this type of movie since you’re pretty much all alone at it. Perhaps the saddest thing about it is seeing that you put more care into your product than a lot of the really big companies who get all the attention. Good luck!
